Message by Julie Carpenter forwarded on by Ari Phillips:

Hi all

I went to see Terry Seabrooke today. He isn't doing too well and
was very depressed.

Clinically, he is improving but he can't find the motivation to
try to get up and walk. He finds it so hard to change his
position in bed that I don't see how he can even start to try to
walk at the moment.

He has been out of action for 3 months now, and feels that he has
lost touch with the magic community.

Please could everyone find a few minutes write him a letter. You
can email it to me and I'll print it off for him.

He would also like some VISITORS. He is on Flaunden Ward WATFORD
GENERAL HOSPITAL (park by the football ground, I think it's
cheaper on the meter than the hospital car park).

Visiting hours are 2-4pm and 6.30 -7.30pm.

Doctors say the cancer has been removed by surgery. His problem is not being able to get up and walk. He's not been receptive to therapist.

However, I just got off the phone with him and he seemed much more like the old Seabrooke and now feels he may go home in a fortnight.

As someone who has endured very invasive surgery for cancer myself, I sympathize with Terry. I remember many words of encouragement that I received that REALLY helped lift my spirits. Hopefully, our many well wishes will lift and motivate him! He is a great performer and creator.

Pete, thanks for the update. Do you know if he has online access in the hospital?

Terry isn't really a computer kind of guy. He resisted getting an e-mail address for the longest. Something about seeing his lecture notes on line within two hours after he gave a lecture soured him against computers.

I understand where he's coming from. I'm pretty techno-phobic myself. Email--ok, but no Facebook no Twitter, etc. Before I joined this and a couple of other magic forums, it took me years to get comfortable with the idea.

And I'm probably the only entertainment executive in Hollywood that refuses to have a Blackberry or other PDA. And while I do have a cell phone, I rarely carry it with me--most of the time it stays in my car.

I talked with Seabrooke recently an he's starting to come round and thought he'd soon be home.
