Will We Have Hyperinflation In America?
Nice little article here that lays out both sides of the argument that is raging among the experts at the moment. http://www.safehaven.com/article/18411/w......-america

The plural of Treasury is Treasuries, not Treasurys.
Apart from that, his conclusion's fine: no hyperinflation for the U.S. |

Improbable, but not impossible.
Other nations that have experienced hyper-inflation seem to all have been shocked at how quickly the value of their currency evaporated. I highly doubt they thought theirs would go belly-up, either...

In my expert opinion half of these experts will be right.

Don't lets underestimate the definition of hyperinflation, gents. Inflation? yes. serious inflation, perhaps. Hyperinflation? I highly doubt it will cost 36 billion US dollars to purchase a candy bar. call it a hunch.

Look on the bright side we could all be Trillionairs by Christmas.

According to the history books, hyperinflation has occurred in the United States twice before. I see no reason why it could not occur again. Having said that, I don't see it happening anytime soon (i.e., say, in the next 5 years).
However, I didn't think too much of the article's arguments for or against hyperinflation. He makes too many unfounded assumptions in each case, IMHO.

Then he says, I'm paraphrasing, that Republicans will be elected soon and they will bring back fiscal responsibility. There are some pretty big assumptions in each of those statements, and I'm not convinced that they are very good ones.

You'll probably need at least another 2 or 3 election cycles, and mistakes made by administrations along the way, before you could see hyperinflation in the States.

Thanks. I think it is going to happen and world wide. Starting next October in accordance with Mayan Calendar.

Well, according to the Mayan calendar the world will end in 2012. So, we only have to make do for a year.
