Hi John,
There is some setup, but after the initial setup the effect is ready to go for hundreds of performances with a minor reset...reset takes less than a minute. I PM'd with Jamie when he first posted the comments above and he told me he didn't like the idea of carrying photos with him or the marker needed to make the prediction. Hope that helps! |

I first performed this for an audience for a Christmas Dinner party (about 30 people) last week, and it was VERY effective. This was done as part of a mentalism-oriented show; I used 8x10 enlargements of the photos provided as a download, built some small wooden stands so that the photos could stand up on the table by themselves, and followed the main theme of the presentation suggested (about Marcus Aurelius). I chose a husband and wife as volunteers, and the husband actually looked a lot like the photos of the emperor -- almost the same beard/mustache. This added considerably to the effect and byplay, especially because this couple is fairly extroverted, and are pretty funny themselves. The method was entirely undetectable, and after seeing a number of other mind-numbing predictions leading up to this effect, the audience members were all pretty much stunned. The method is solid, easy to perform technically -- you just have to focus on presentation and this is another potential reputation maker. A new standard part of my repetoire. Many thanks to the inventor, great use of this technique.

I sent Docc the PDF back in 2010, and he never replied.
It is my understanding that they use the same method, but in a different fashion. |
