I will carry out about 15 decks and about 15 packet tricks and would like something small but will hold the above snuggly. Any ideas?

You might want to look into various camera/professional photographer's carrying bags.

They often have multiple pockets in varying configurations with the added benefit of being waterproof and quite durable.
"Is there any point to which you would wish to draw my attention?"
"To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time."
"The dog did nothing in the night-time."
"That was the curious incident," remarked Sherlock Holmes.

First think about who you are as a character and have a look around the net for cases, bags. I use a case from Harbor Frieght that I spin on a mic stand. I've used back packs and even camel packs, without the bladder that would fit 15 decks plus.

I just stopped in this forum looking for the same thing. But I don’t want to carry a case around with me.

I'm looking to carry a few packet tricks and coins/coin sets strictly for impromptu magic. Not a set performance or anything; just having a few things on me that I can pull out on the spur of the moment. Up till now I just keep some coins in my pockets and do a few plain sleights. No gaffs or anything. But I tire of the same old every time. I do keep a Showdown or Hideout wallet on me now with some pocket magic and mentalism items, like Pocket Space Plus, Parking Space, Kioku, etc. But some packet tricks would be great, and maybe a deck or two also. There seems to be plenty of organizers to keep in a sports jacket or blazer but I rarely wear them and never while I am just walking around, shopping and the like.
In fall and winter I can keep such stuff in a jacket, but I am stuck as to where to carry it when I am just wearing a shirt and slacks.

Anyone have a decent pants pocket organizer? I know that Carl Andrews has something but I have never seen any photos or heard from anyone that has one and can recommend it. And I've bought far too many magic items sight unseen and without adequate descriptions that turned out to be exactly what I didn't need!

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

For storage, look at drug stores for photo wallets that hold photographs. They are very cheap, plastic and will hold many sets of packet tricks at the same time.

For storage, go to a store that sells comic books and Pokemon cards, etc. They sells cardboard boxes where you can store many decks.

If you're performing with 15 decks and 15 packet tricks on your person, I must ask......

..... why?

Bring a case with you. Load a couple decks in your pockets. When you are done with these tricks, go to your case and switch out decks.

Hi Frank.

Never said 15 or 16. But I might want to have 5 or 6 with me. Why? I have several of the kind of quickies like Mark Mason offers and they are great (IMO) for impromptu tricks for kids. Full blown card routines are a bit much for them. I perform mostly for friends and family and oftentimes they are not planned performances. Instead I might be at a family gathering and have a handful of nieces and nephews and their friends there. It's nice to be able to pull out something like Gordon Bean's Entourage (a fantastic trick, BTW!) or Mark Mason's Royal Flash, etc. I have them in separate vinyl card cases - sometimes two per case - but carrying a few in a pocket can get a bit messy, and they are subject to getting bent up if I'm not careful. Best solution I've found thus far? Cargo pants! The baggy side pockets work well. But I can't wear those everywhere!

Thanks!

Kids would appreciate several tricks from a non-gim deck

triumph is very clear
spec. cuts the aces is very clear
card to pocket
carlyle's homing card
card under drink
cards across

.. just to name a few. then you're down to one deck.

I know. probably not what you wanted to hear.

Hey - tomato/tomahto. Smile

Eventually I'd like to get one of your pouches but that will take me a while.

BTW, Himber purses are just super - I use them (Himber and the ungaffed companion) for Scott Guinn's "Pouched CSB" and it is mystifying!

Thanks!

Tony660,

When an audience sees you pull out a different deck or packet for each trick, you tip your hand. They know the magic is not in you, but in these special decks.

If you really like using cards, learn some slight of hand. Gimmicked decks and packets are fine AS A SUPPLEMENT to your show, not the show itself.

Using a few gimmicked decks are fine, and a few packet tricks are fine too, but 15 of each? Learn multiple tricks with each deck and more with a regular deck. Stop being so reliant on "canned" magic. You will find that the longer you do close-up, the less you will bring with you.
