Is this a no-palm only wallet, or can it be used with a palm as well?>

Someone did ask this earlier in the thread but I don't recall seeing an answer.

It is a palm only in the purest sense in that you cannot load a card by way of a palm directly in to the zipper compartment. However, I have a couple of routines where it is easier to palm card. I still use Mullica in my back pocket and use palm. But to be clear this is not a palm ctw. Pm if you want more detail in how I load from a palm.

Got it and love it, using it as my everyday wallet.

OK - got this recently and have been playing with it. Two things:

1. Unless you travel very light, this isn't going to cut it as your everyday wallet. Shame. As other posters have pointed out, there are only three working credit card slots...
2. THis is my first wallet of this kind. I'm having a little trouble sliding the cards etc into position: they "stick" against the leather. Is this normal?

Ross. You're gripping it way too tight. Sane happened to me. Hold loosely.

I love this product. Here are a couple of things from my experience with it.

First of all, I see the phrase, "You can use it as your everyday..." in magic advertising now and then. I would never use an expensive magic prop as my everyday 'whatever'. I do not want to put wear and tear on the thing or risk losing it. I realize that some enjoy having gimicked props with them at all times for spur of the moment performances, but that's not important to me. I made copies of a few of the credit cards I carry in my real wallet, printed them on glossy heavy photo paper, cut them out with rounded corners and put those in the wallet. Also a copy of my drivers license in the pocket of the inner wallet.

When I received my wallet, the inner wallet fit very tightly in its compartment. You obviously want to be able to easily slip the inner wallet out of the compartment during the routine. To enlarge the compartment I used a thin DVD case, the short end of which fits perfectly in there. I slid this into the compartment, under the inner wallet and left it there for several days, stretching the compartment. My inner wallet now slides effortlessly in and out of the enlarged compartment. The DVD case I used is not the standard DVD case, but the super slim version which is only 3/16ths of an inch thick. You might find something else that works or cut something to size, but the super slim DVD case is perfect.

Thanks for the tip on stretching the wallet, I have had it for a few days and was wondering how I could loosen it up without having to pull the inner wallet out and push it back in several hundred times!

I like the tip on the DVD about practising with a camera as it will catch things that you don't when looking in a mirror. I know for you experts out there it sounds obvious, but as a 'newbie' it was a great tip to get.

The only criticism that I have is that the wallet seems designed for you to pull out of your left back pocket to be in the 'perfect position' which means that you will be holding a deck of cards in mechanics grip with your right hand part-way through the routine. Again probably not a problem for you experienced magicians, but again as a relative newbie I have been practicing hard using the Oz Pearlman 'Born ro perform' DVD which teaches left hand mechanics etc. So this has introduced another challenge for me to master before I am confident in using the wallet, or have I missed something basic and simple on this score?

I think Tim must be left handed, if you put the inner wallet in with the fold to the outside of the pocket then it works by flipping open onto a deck in the left hand

Personally, I like the previous version of the hip pocket Mullica better. While it's not as thin, it doesn't show all the internal ridges and slots on the outside, like the thin model. I also like the feel of the leather better on the Tony Miller version. It just seems nicer. And while I understand why it's there, I just don't care for the gold zipper. It makes it seem more like a prop. What's better about the thin model is the DVD. Excellent material and well done.

With all that said, if I'm wearing a jacket I still prefer the original Mullica.

Very poor quality. I thought it was plastic. I walked away from the purchase (and I walked in ready to buy). My local dealer didn't even want to show it. He just wanted me to buy it sight unseen, without opening the dvd box. Now I know why. Sad. Very disappointing. Not to mention the poor packaging design. The wallet doesn't even fit in the box so it looks damaged before using. The customer has to do the work to restore to proper quality after being smashed in the case. Lame

One thing you need to be mindful of - if you're thinking of carrying this every day - is that the wallet doesn't afford substantial protection for plastic cards (ie, drivers licenses and credit cards). I was carrying my drivers license in the plastic ID slot and it cracked when I sat on it. Now, that may say more about my body mass index than you wanted to know, but it never happened with any other wallet. So, if you're going to load it up with your cards and carry it around, you might want to keep it in a pocket you don't sit on.

Other than that, it's a great prop. Hardest thing seems to be getting the load to slide smoothly across the leather, particularly when the wallet has been in a humid environment (ie, any pocket on a hot day). It tends to want to stick.
Now appearing nightly in my basement.

Look at The Undercover Wallet, it has a Mullica syle load feature and much more.

Having the same issue with the "sticking." I am using the wallet as an everyday one and practicing frequently but I am not smooth when sliding the card from underneath wallet to underneath ID holder. Haven't tried live yet cuz too nervous. The ID wallet (inner wallet) also just seems to small - I know its supposed to but the cover it provides over a standard playing card is so minimal that any "stickiness" and a corner of the card may peek out from the side.
I therefore end up gripping way too tight to prevent this and look like I'm molesting my wallet. Can't figure out how to surefire, 100% of the time get the load right. In practicing, I probably get it right maybe 2/3 of the time.

I must say I am enjoying using this wallet. It's a bit more fiddly than a standard palming wallet, but that's only because here you are doing the dirty work in front of the spectator rather than inside your pocket.

I think another poster already mentioned that the demonstrator on the DVD seems to be a left-hander, which means you have to reverse most suggestions if you are a righty. I certainly set my wallet up differently than shown on the DVD with regards to the inner wallets orientation and open it in a different way.

I was also a bit surprised at the wallet just being jammed inside the oversize DVD case, but it doesn’t seem to have done it any harm.

Just picked this up last week from Denny and Lee. I have lots of wallets! The quality is very good on this one, smooth stitching, and very well made. I did a stretching process for the id case compartment by putting a deck of cards in with the id case on top. wore that for a day, and now the inner wallet easily comes out. I love the size of the wallet, and will use it as an everyday wallet. The load is simple and instant.
The routines on the DVD are good as well as entertaining to watch. all in all I would say this is a great product. I will use it often.

Guys, as a tip, I keep my "ID Wallet" in the money side of thew wallet, underneath the flap. That was it's extremely easy to remove. I use mine as an everyday wallet and man it has quickly bought its worth in my performances. I use it as an out for any trick were something may go wrong. I've used it as an out many times and of course it gets even better reactions than the trick I was planning on using anyway. I love mine. Although I'm on my second one right now. My first wallet ripped completely down the side and all the leather started to become unstuck everywhere so that there was sticky glue all over the credit cards and my money. But I contacted the paul Harris team and they kindly sent me a replacement wallet. So far this one is lasting much better than my other one.

Hmm...and you keep the money in the opposite side? (meant for the ID holder)
