Tony - it's all about the bling these days.
Am I right in thinking your wallet has a palm and no palm Feature? I ask as it'd be nice to ditch real mans wallet and my Mullica (old school size) and have a single multi function wallet .....just read my question back and I appreciate it reads like an infomercial for Tonys wallet but it is a genuine query. |

It’s unfortunate that Tony Miller has chosen to question this item as it simply forces me to put out the facts to publicly correct any misinformation suggested by Tony. A number of years ago I was performing walk around restaurant, cocktail parties, etc. on a regular basis. I used to use the Mullica Wallet all of the time but realized that it was too big and bulky for what I wanted so I literally redesigned it to make it smaller, more refined, etc. (it was originally made from a preexisting wallet that was imply modified). At that time, Tony Miller was making a few wallets so I contacted Tony to make a few units for my own use only. I made it very clear to Tony these were for me. I submitted 2 different wallet designs to him to custom make 3 or 4 units of each for my own use only. I obviously paid Tony for his time and for the manufacturing. I submitted samples that were made as mock ups from preexisting wallets… they had lines drawn on them, were cut up and taped back together, and had post it notes pointing out things I wanted added and changed. Tony made the wallets (both designs) and sent them to me and I used them for a number of years. He did a great job.
A number of years later I happened to be looking at Penguins web site and saw a Hip Pocket Mullica wallet being advertised. I ordered one as I assumed there was some new work. When I got it I was horrified that it was my EXACT design with not one change, not one improvement, etc. I immediately contacted Tony via phone and inquired what was up and whether there was any question or oversight that this was my design for my personal use. Tony advised that he had sold a number of wallet designs to Penguin Magic and assumed I would not mind. He distinctly remembered the 2 designs I had sent him and he had made for me. I advised I did mind and was surprised he would not at least ASK. I asked him why he would not at least contact me to inquire as I was certainly not hard to get a hold of and Tony certainly had access to contact me but had not even tried to contact me. Tony offered to give me a few wallets as compensation (though I never got any from him but did get a dozen or so from Penguin). I still had my wallets and the ONLY difference was a SLIGHTLY different leather but rather negligible. There was absolutely NO question that Tony clearly understood and had not forgotten that this was my design. So it is interesting that now there is amnesia about this. I spoke to Maxwell Murphy of Penguin at the time and offered to immediately provide him with one of my wallets so he could see that it was EXACTLY the same. I also contacted Jerry Mentzer who owned the rights to the original Mullica Wallet to explain what had transpired as this was not intended for general release but only for my release. Jerry understood. Upon revealing what had happened Maxwell Murphy immediately did the right thing, apologized, and added my name to the ad copy/description (though in fact, Tony’s name probably should not even have been on it). I was never given any monetary compensation for my design, my creation. I believe I still may have some of the correspondence on all of this if necessary. Penguin discontinued the product once their initial manufacturing run was out... What surprised me about this was that Tony would do this as he is a creative guy and had many many designs of his own on various types of wallets so why he would choose to give my creation/design out without permission, with clear knowledge that it was my design, and with not one change or improvement baffled me. This was a past pattern that I had assumed had stopped as Tony had had many creative ideas more recently. After it was discontinued by Penguin I spoke to Paul Harris about it as I had had a number of inquires wondering when it would be available again (as my name was now correctly listed on the product). I showed Paul my design and he really liked it. I had a great routine using one of Paul’s creations to use in conjunction with the wallet. Paul then started applying some of his other creations to the wallet as he realized the strength of combining them… as an example he has a WONDERFUL and super strong effect using a borrowed license that absolutely KILLS. By combining it with my wallet it takes it to a whole new level. Paul got my permission and blessing to release the wallet and we included some improvements. Tommy Wonder had made a suggestion to me a number of years ago and that was included. Some of the subsequent rip offs that came out used much thicker and cheaper leather so we contacted Alan Wong to help us in making this a reality and Alan did an absolutely amazing job of the highest quality. Joe Russell was contacted to help make the DVD and had many many ideas working with Paul on this, fell in love with it, and carries it as his regular wallet and uses it all of the time performing. The effects included are, I am very proud to say, spectacular thanks to Paul and Joe. The quality of the wallet is top notch thanks to Alan and Paul. This is probably the most practical card to wallet in existence. It’s not just a clever design (due to the ingenious mind of Tom Mullica) but the routines included are so good. Make sure to check out the license effect- no playing cards, no nothing- borrow THEIR driver’s license and you have a miracle. I hope that sets things straight and gives a little more insight. Enjoy this as I have. Tim |

This wallet looks very nice. I know the Mullica wallet is not designed for this purpose, but is it possible to use the inner wallet to peek and PW on business and playing cards?

Thanks Tim for explaining it here. I'm sorry to hear such dispute had to happen as this is a great wallet.
I'm waiting for a review, hopefully we could read it before the next month ends. Seriously, this wallet looks amazing and I love the slimness and its quality from the demo.

This new wallet looks great. Seems like there's a lot of versatility to it. I've been using the Real Man's Wallet for years and have been really happy with it, but I'm considering switching to this one. Especially since PH's License to Astonish works with the design of the wallet. I've always loved that effect and can only imagine how much better the effect must handle and look with a wallet built for it.
One question I have is how well the wallet fits into a back pocket. For instance in a standard jeans pocket is it going to be protruding out of the pocket or is it going to sit in the pocket naturally the way a standard single fold wallet does? |

SuperSlim should easily go all the way into your jeans back pocket like a normal back pocket wallet.

Even there's a common and perhaps standard size for back pocket, I think it would be nice if the dimensions of the wallet is also stated in the website.

Tim,
Thanks for clearing things up. Had no idea about what had transpired. The Super Slim looks excellent.
