Hey Shawn,
Thanks so much for your generous words. That means a lot coming from the world champ. I appreciate that very much! Finally got to see your lecutre "Bread and Butter" and magic show on the weekend. For anyone who has not seen Shawn's "Shape of My Heart" routine live, I have to tell you that it is poetry, magic and elegance all rolled up into one enchanting story! Thanks again my friend, hope to see you back in country soon! Tony

I was there when Tony did this for Shawn and saw the amazed reactions of Shawn and everyone else in the room. I had to get one for myself as well!
I've been having a lot of fun with it and everyone I have done it for has been truly amazed. This is a great piece of work and I echo everything that Shawn said above. I agree with Tony too, watching Shawn's performances was also amazing. It was really great to meet both of you, and thanks again Tony for selling this to me! Cheers, V. |

Seems there is lots of hype on this product but this is the real review. I had the thing now for about three weeks and I have played with it a lot and what is most important, I have used it in the real world.
First little bit about the electronics in general. I have allways been little weary about em... What if they don't work, what is your out, what if there is some sort of short circuit problem. Electronics tend to be rather delicate after all. When I received my first hauting system around month ago I got to experience my fears first hand. It worked only maybe around 60% of the time. There was something wrong with the remote. A friend of mine bought it from Mindvention so I knew that there shoudnt be any problems with it cos his worked perfectly. So few emails with mr Taylor and I was send replacement unit. Great customer service and very fast reply time. I send the original back once I received the new one. I received the new unit in about week and started playing with it. It works and does what it is supposed to do. However there is tons of things to take into consideration before ordering this. First, the gaff is about half the deck so the other half is normal cards. If you have ever worked with any sort of stack this should be no problem to you. You still can shuffle and handle the deck extremely freely. Second, the motor makes noise. Not much, but it still makes noise enought that I woudnt dare to try it out in silent space. Someone might start to wonder if you have dildo in your pocket Also the noise is connected to the speed the deck cuts itself. If you want rather fast cut, the more noise it makes. The slower the cut, the less noise but the cutting can get "stuck" or take very long time (+30seconds). You cant alter this speed in the middle of the performance really. You can switch the thing on and off but to alter the real speed, you must open up the thing and adjust it with screw driver (supplied) Third, the cutting action changes a lot on each performance. It is not straight clean cut as in most haunted decks. Cant really get into details but this is caused by the method of electronics used. The chosen card may end up in the bottom card of the upper packet or top card of the bottom packet. Also in many cases the cut looks more like cards spreading in messy way from chosen card. It is not as clean looking as common threat versions. Fourth, you need some sort of surface to do this on. Table cloth will do if it has any thickness in it but you cant do this on clear glass or wood table or even floor! Or you can but the sound is amplified many times and it can change into "moving deck" effect, not cutting the deck. Fifth... As magic trick I did this around 20 times on exhibition gig I was working on weekend and around 25-35% of the time, people WILL WANT TO SEE THE DECK! In my routine they handled the deck in the trick before this themselves but they still wanted to handle it. I was causious and was prepared with deck switch before the revelation but this might be a problem to some. What advantages this unit has over common methods? I am mainly familiar with most IT versions and I use spooked all the time. The spooked packs more punch. The distance doesn't really matter for laymen. As long as you can stand away from the deck it is enough in my experience. Also the card flying out from the deck really makes spooked more powerfull. However, as with most IT methods, you are dependable on the lights. This is the main reason why I ordered this one. This can be done in any light, any room, as long as the above 5 things are taken into consideration. Also, haunting can be used in many ways the normal haunting decks cant. Like under the dome (well, actually you can do that in many different ways as well). I am in the works of developing frog prince routine where the frog sits on top of the deck and the deck cuts ifself. This is still in the works but it has been in my mind for allmost 10 years and now I FINALLY have a method to do this in real world, without worrying about complicated threat setups. Also the thing can be used so psychokinetic effects. Put a pen on the cardcase and it falls down. Stand a deck of cards on the upright position and it falls down on you command and so on. The product is quite expensive but the electronics are really good quality and that makes the price understandable. The DVD is well shot and explains all the nessesary things well enough. This product in my mind is geared fro professionals who can use it in variety of different situations. I woudnt recommend this for hobbyist of amateurs. I have rather happy with my purchase, but if you don't perform a lot in situations where lights are problem or you really want to get the thing out of your own hands, then I would keep with the version you are allready doing. Hello guys! I bought this effect last year at blackpool convention. I never used it and a couple of months ago I decided to get it with me at a gig....Since then it became my favorite trick! The reactions you get are just amazing! Worth every penny!

I have to agree with the above post, last year I was doing a gig with a fellow magician who was using this deck, I had seen this at Blackpool and didn't buy it if I am honest I wasn't impressed. First there was the noise issue, second I have always usd an IT when doing a haunted deck getting the card to come out the deck something that haunted doesn't do. In my opinion the version I was doing was superior I don't think I have ever been so wrong about an effect. After seeing this performed by the magician at the gig and seeing the amazing reactions he was getting I had to admit I was wrong. I purchased this before Christmas and it gets the reactions that we all want. Spectators are blown away, the noise is not a problem in fact it is quiter than I thought it would be, the fact that the card does not spin out the deck didn't matter the reactions were spectacular.
The fact that this is so easy to perform and looks so nateral in handling, you can shuffle the cards, cut the cards have the card very fairly inserted in the center of the deck and just puut the deck on the floor and walk away from it and yet all the time it is under your complete control makes this a winner.I don't usually like carrying a gimmicked deck as it is good for only one effect but this is worth the sacrifice. My only regret is that if I had bought it from Blackpool I would have had a whole extra year of using it |
