Verbal direction and cues. Is there a specific word you are trying to force?

No .. not necessarily .. it could be one word .. that has a high probability of the person thinking of that word .. at least 75 percent with some out ... I have seen one where the word .. run .. is thought of with a high percentage hit .. something like that

Cassidy, Banachek, are a couple who immediately come to mind, each offering several high-%-hit psychological forces.
Colin McLeod offers a very clever 100% solution on his new Opening Minds DVD set. e |

Here's one for you...
Say this with anger... "I don't give a...." What was that missing word that I was going to say? Works every time.

Is ok to create new ideas with new methods... but also is an option to learn how to use existing methods and create new ideas in a psychological way. Is like the Mr. Hilford idea for BT .... just use the book for a brief moment. Later on they will forgot it ! I have a video uploaded in Vimeo, in which I use a dictionary to let the participant ( a TV host) to read a word. A classmate the other day ask me :" How did you knew the word that the guy was thinking of?" She literally forgot the book part!!! ... And I think that our job is in there, no in the real method, but in the IMAGE that we wanna create. Memories are fragile. Now... if you wanna a solution for your problem ( that is completely fine, but I don't get why...) get Mr. Quinn book "Paralies"

This is not a new idea .. I was looking for where I could find an existing effect .. I have many book tests but frankly .. as to why .. the answer is simple ... having someone merely think of a word .... rather than pick one from a book .. is stronger in my opinion .. not mention a better impromptu effect .. thanks for your recommendation on Paralies .. I have that but am looking for a different approach than F*****G

Those ideas and creators mentioned above all have wonderful solutions
I have one myself that I am releasing in my next ebook. People imagine a book in their minds and word/s are revealed. Clean and simple (and 100% effective). It makes this a Major-effect (one, in which, the entire audience participates). ..It is tenatively entitled, "Logos" (an unimaginative title, which is the Greek word for "word") Waters |

I think in almost each dvd or mentalism books/pdf you have this kind of effect !
If you already have some book ( I don't talk about book test but real one about mentalism) you'll find lot of them. Johnny Thomson,Strivings, cavalli,Kennedy,Quinn,Knepper,Sankey,Weber,Karmilovitch for instance... Doug Dyment has a good one

Kenton Knepper does a fair bit along these lines and the use of linguistics. Also have a look at the naked mentalism books from Jon Thompson, they deal with the exact subject that you're talking about

I've used, and got away this, essentially comdey filler ditty in the past:
"I'm going to write a word on this piece of paper, fold it and place it here..." "Think of a word. Any word. Got one?" "Yes." "Sure?" "Yes!" Voila - reveal "SURE" from folded paper. Okay, I never pretended to be a serious mentalist and don't intend to offend those that are. |

Roger,
I like it. Is that free for anyone to use, or your proprietary material? I've been using the "no" gag as a warm up; I appreciate the value of a good joke to break the ice. Also, as Decomposed points out, you can also change the "no" gag into a "yes" gag. I hadn't thought of that before. Great! We now return you to the world of serious jedi mind-tricks. Victor |
