You should take a look at Colin McLeod's bookless test from the Opening Minds dvd set. This is a 100% hit, every time. It's an amazingly clean effect. The spectator can think of any (imagninary) book, any page, any word... and you know what it is. NO book is actually used. And as far as the spectators are concerned, completely propless.

Buy Joshua Quinn's Paralies book. There is a routine in there called Thought Chunnel where a person thinks of ANY word and you have them go through a process in their head to end up at a completely different word. You then tell them what they are thinking of.

Nothing is written down and it all happens inside their head.

Here is a clip of me performing it on the radio...

There are a few different scenarios that can happen but the one in the video is the best case.

I use a variety of forces, from run of the mill psychological forces --funny way to put it-- to more complex psychological word forces.

I personally have a method of my own that is similar to thought channeling and progressive anagrams, just without questions and it's far shorter. It hits nearly 100% of the time.

Roger,
I like it. Is that free for anyone to use, or your proprietary material?

:)

Well, I did actually think of it and was considering releasing it as a £100 limited edition DVD. Sadly, Alakazam weren't interested - and, blow me, I saw another mentalist perform and he'd already 'released' another version with the word "Definately?"

Got a feeling that something like it has been released as a 'filler' item in a book somewhere. One of those Great Minds Think Alike moments?

About Colin's book test…
Is the book-less book test from the DVD set the same as the book test from Contributions? Are ‘The Albertest’ and the book-less book test the same effect?
Sorry, but I’m confused about this and would appreciate knowing.
Thanks

Billet work is my favorite way of accomplishing any think of a word/object/picture etc. test. (In fact it is the foundation of almost all of my work.)

No extraneous props, sure fire and extremely convincing when done properly. And all you need is a pencil and paper.

Good thoughts,

Bob

Bob you are completely right!

The most convincing mind-reading effects I do are based on billet work.

I agree, pencil and paper. For me its PW but when nothing is written down it seems like it could be the Grail and it may just be. Smile
