It's an amazingly clean effect. The spectator can think of any (imagninary) book, any page, any word... and you know what it is. NO book is actually used. And as far as the spectators are concerned, completely propless. There is a routine in there called Thought Chunnel where a person thinks of ANY word and you have them go through a process in their head to end up at a completely different word. You then tell them what they are thinking of. Nothing is written down and it all happens inside their head. I personally have a method of my own that is similar to thought channeling and progressive anagrams, just without questions and it's far shorter. It hits nearly 100% of the time. (In fact it is the foundation of almost all of my work.) No extraneous props, sure fire and extremely convincing when done properly. And all you need is a pencil and paper.
