One thing that has helped me in the development of my own TIA routine is knowing my premise and how to set that up putting the audience into a receptive state, developing convincers and having 'outs' for the pieces I present individually. Once I had these, I had MORE confidence. I only found this through much research and experience for what worked for me.
This act is a masterful display of direct and indirect suggestion. Audience and participant management is also another part I am working on. Nothing new here, as this applies to any piece we present. I DO NOT put my TIA bits in with ANY MAGIC (do not do any magic) as recommended by Orville. I do warm up with a mentalism piece that is original to me and is a part of my premise. From this, to start out in TIA, I started incorporatine bits of TIA into my act, with now having around 10 minutes or so of it feeling pretty confident. I hope to build up to 45-60 minutes and maybe a whole act just of TIA (again as recommended by Orville). I have been studying hypnosis, but really desire to maintain the attitude and presentational style of TIA more so than in being a hypnotist. Finding some resources that apply to TIA that Orville mentions in the begginning of his manuscript...only updated...has also contributed to adding to what I TRUELY BELIEVE and can sell to my audience as THE REAL THING. So my version has a motivational bent to it that works perfect for me. Again, this comes from researching and developing my premise. I love this act. It has changed me and is helping to transform my audiences to what is possible. That may be the 'secret' that OM mentions at the last sentence or two of his manuscript. May you learn to Send and Receive thought well! -Scott M. |
