The Effect:
The performer introduces and shuffles a pack of cards. He then exlains to the audiance that there are many ways a magician may find out which card they chose. For example the magician could use slight of hand, or he could use marked cards, and by looking at the back of your card he could tell -by secret markings- what your card was. He then explains how he tried to come up with a routine which eliminated all of these "cheating" possabilities. The performer looks away and asks the spectator to cut anywhere into the deck and just look at their card for about five seconds, before replacing it back on the deck and sqauring it up. The performer turns back and -without ever touching the cards- reveals the exact card the spectator was thinking of. I'm sure you can find a way to do this yourself, but this is an open forum so I'd rather not explain it fully here. Tom xx

Yes I know that some people know about marked cards. And yes, I also appreciate that mentioning sleight of hand is not the same as demonstrating a d***** lift. And yes, I also know that Eshla/y will argue about any advice offered. I mention these points for the benefit of others who may make the mistake of trusting Eshla/y's judgment on matters of mentalism. T. |

I know quite a few good effects using the marked deck, I did try the lesley deck but it was not for me. I now use the umd, in fact sometimes I have used the deck for non marked deck effects.
Am I right in thinking luke jermay has some effects utilising the marked deck? Ps I have tried searching through google but not found what I'm looking for. Regards carl |
