Hi guys,
out of the 2 volumes, which one would you recommend more? Michael |

Michael,
I really hate to say this but, both are excellent if you are a fan of Nick Trost's magic, so, I cannot make your choice easier. I am assuming you already have the classic The Card Magic of Nick Trost of course. I remember when this series began. Richard Hatch had mentioned it would be an 8 volume set. With Mr. Trost's passing, I am wondering if the project has ended here. I had talked to Mr. Hatch after the first volume was released and had asked him if there was any chance of combining the volumes into a huge book like Stewart James in Print. Mr. Hatch told me that Nick Trost did NOT want to put out one huge book. I wish he had. I have a sense there is great magic we will never see from a GREAT card magician. अहिंसा Vlad |

I am meeting with Charlie tonight and will see if I can't get a sneak peak at some of the contents. No promises though. I know Vol. 1 and 2 had some hidden gems in there. I will say that none other than Gary Plants fooled me with a trick from Vol. 1.

Not to hijack, but are the "Subtle Card Creations" basically an expansion of "The Card Magic of Nick Trost?" In other words, I see several effects for these two newer volumes that were in "The Card Magic of Nick Trost." However, I also see a lot of effects that were not included in that same book.

Hey guys,
Charlie is shooting for an early April release date. To answer your question Jeff, the Subtle Card Creations series was put together before Mr. Trost passed away. He planned the books out as far as the chapters and effects, and was adamant as to how it was to be released. Hope that answers your questions. Thanks!! Marshall http://www.magicbookshop.com |
