Hi Guys really stuck as to which of these pads to purchase ? Have any of you have any thoughts or what you think is the best. Do any require expensive or hard to get hold of refills ? Regards Gary

Parapad = Excellent product & genuinely great customer service, also the pen is easily converted for on the fly reset.
Nomad pad = No idea as I don't have it! Charlie |

The great thing about the Nomad pad is that you can see EXACTLY what it does and exactly the modus operandi here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAVFvNjuVow That being said, although I do not own it, my research into these two utility devices leads me to believe that the parapad is slightly more deceptive and practical. The main thing to me that I prefer about the (description of the) parapad is that you do not have to remove a sheet and band it to the cover before they write. This to me, feels fishy and I wouldn't like to do the effect this way. With the parapad, you open the cover, hand them the pad, ask them to rip off the sheet and hand you back the pad, in closing the pad you gl*m*se the p**k. There is also a version made here in the U.S. which uses a regular pen. If you want to know the name of it, PM me. They all seem to be great effects- I went for the U.S. version for a couple of other reasons. To me, the Parapad seems like a more deceptive device of these two (Nomad/Parapad) As an aside, the reset on that Nomad pad is Sweet! [I believe the reset on the parapad is similar, but instead of the rub with the pen, you place it into your pocket.) Good luck nanaswan, I hope that this helped. You can read much more about parapad (and nomad pad) here on the Café. That should answer a lot of questions |

There are at least two more comprehensive ParaPad/Nomad Pad-threads out there - you should check them and decide for yourself!

I just ordered John Riggs Superfly from his Butterfly series, waiting for it to arrive. I was reading about and asking questions for weeks about pads. I will update as soon as it arrives.

I own both.
Usually, when I make comparisons, I am apt to say something like..."not even in the same ballpark." That is not the case here. They are in the same ballpark, but one is a homerun and the other is a stand up triple. To my eyes, the image on the Parapad is clearer and easier to obtain. The Nomad, however, is still quite good... just not quite as good as the Parapad. Techmology is moving so fast, that I can only speak fot now. You will not be throwing away your money with either. But if you are going to spend the dough, why not the best. Parapad for me. Parson
