Can you recomend me any book(s) about ball manipulation?
I searched for sources for learning productions, vanishing, colour changes, working with balls and silk, etc. Not for beginners! I am looking for books with strong manipulations, efects and routines. |

"Balls! Lessons In Sidearm Snookery" by Richard Kaufman is an advanced course in ball manipulation. This book has been out of print for some time and as such is difficult to find. It shows up on Ebay every few months.

Burling Hull's Expert Billiard Ball Manipulations Parts 1&2. These also are old books and out of print, but you can usually find them here and there.
I too am a student of ball manipulation, but the material is so scarce. The books and videos I find teach the same stuff or the moves are practically worthless. FC |

There is a whole chapter on ball manipulation in 'Routined Manipulation II' by Lewis Ganson.
A bit complicated to follow out of the book, though. Oh I must add, use your imagination. A lot of the billiard ball vanishes are the same moves as coin vanishes... just with a different name. Play around with some billiard balls, you will more or less come up with your own moves. I invented my own colour change just playing around with them. Go get creative! |

So keep searching for that and other publications. Once it shows up, place your bid or buy it if seller has a selling price. Good luck! |

Make sure you read the small print on the item page. Some sellers chose not to ship outside USA or North America. It will say whether the seller will ship internationally or not.

CONTACT JUGGLING PART 1 (NEW!)
Made by jugglers for jugglers. Ideal for the beginner: shows all the basics in sequence, with each move repeated for study in the appendix. Ideal for the expert: shows enough advanced moves to keep you busy for months. This is the contact juggling video you've been waiting for. Makes a great visual guide to James Ernest's book Contact Juggling, but has its own, special perspective. 60 min. VHS http://www.dube.com

Walter Gibson had a good book on it. We even have it in our crappy library in town.
I personally find manipulation easier to learn on video. |

I have a lot of books on Billard Ball and other forms of manipulations. One of my favorites is an old book called "It's Easier Then You Think" by Geoffrey Buckingham. The book is marvelous and he talks about Billard Balls as well as cards and coins. He also has a wonderful section on how to make your own holders and the proper way of making body steals from the clips. Well worth looking into.

Try Jeff McBride's Manipulation with Coins, Thimbles & Balls. It works for me.

Dynamike: It's a book??? I know McBride has his seminar Video ("World class manipulations"), but that's the first time I've heard of McBride's book.

Ron McMillans Symphony of The Spheres. He wrote it long before his International Magic days. He won the British Ring shield with the 14 ball routine that is included in the book. I have it. Well worth getting.

Any of the McBride tapes are a good resource to have as well as any lecture notes you can find on the manipulative topics. I find a lot of great stuff at auctions. You just have to keep your eyes open.

There is a Burling Hull Expert Billiard Ball Manipulations book up right now on ebay (don't worry, it's not mine - I am in no way affiliated with the seller, and I already have a copy). It is at 9.99 which is good. Check it out.

Thanks for the information. I already have that in my collection and it is a great book to have and learn from. I also have the complete Chavez course notes on manipulation. I found it at a convention a while back from someone trying to sell off some old things they had. I had to have it for my collection. It has some really great stuff in it and is all photographed.

McBride's new lecture notes, Manipulation without tears, has a solid ball manipulation act.
