Hi all,

Some time ago, there was a post about a $10 set of plastic Cups.
They were the usual red, blue and yellow, but had a bead-like or perhaps lattice pattern woven around the Cup exteriors. They had a whimsical splash of sparkle and many posters praised them.

Can someone help me to find them online?

With thanks,

e

At one time there was a special on this set of cups at this site for about $10. Now the price is back up to $25.

These appear with some frequency on the big auction site.

These are not plastic. They are aluminum. They are available from a number of suppliers.

Yes, aluminum. I missed where he stated he was looking for a plastic set. I had a set of these aluminum cups in the "magic box" for my grandchildren. They seemed to always want to play with an Adams set instead. My aluminum cups like this had MAK Magic instructions or the MAK name on the box, I can't remember which. However, I never did see any on the MAK website.

I'm at a loss on what plastic cups might fit this description.

Maybe he was thinking about this set. Was there a plastic set that was jewel studded?

Bingo!

I was wrong about the plastic - these are the ones.

Thanks!

Happy to help. I bought my set of those cups from this site when they were steeply discounted. They have a different "powder coated aluminum" set on sale now for $5.

Not as pretty, but pretty cheap!

I think that is the precursor to the "jeweled" set. Someone also bought a few sets like this and recombined them so the cups were all one color. I saw them on the big auction site a while back.

Ok this may not be the right place for this but why does everybody keep calling it "the big auction site"? I know I may be missing the obvious but I am not getting it.

Google "Meg Whitman." She used to run a little company that lets people sell their stuff. That's the one being referred to. She no longer runs it though. Now poor Meg is...well...$140 million poorer than she was.

Although references to eBay are not prohibited in the rules, direct references to specific auctions are prohibited, because the links are not permanent. Read the rules.

BTW, if I post a criticism of a specific set of cups on eBay, using the seller's name, there can be legal repercussions, even if I preface what I say with "In my opinion." However, if I say, "There is a seller on the big auction site that is offering 'Copper Mini Cups' and they are not copper, but copper plated aluminum," and they lose sales because of it, there's not much they can do about it.
