I was blown away as I saw the slow motion video of this effect!
Does anybody know more about it? - no thread - no magnet - no clue - with a borrowed cigarette - can be done surrounded - non-smoker versions http://www.seomagic-usa.com/catalog/prod......s_id/606

Looks good. Wonder how accurate the advertising really is though. Can you just borrow two cigarettes without switching them out and do EXACTLY what is shown in the demo and immediately hand them right back? Because that's the impression I'm getting from the advertising.

Because that's the exact impression I'm getting from the advertising, and it's hard to believe that's pure sleight of hand--especially that moment at 0:35 in the demo.

This has already been exposed on Japanese television.

If not, I am completely baffled. Mike |

Hey Mike,
Yea, watching the clip I thought the explanation might not be the actual method. Over the years I have done versions of this penetration with match sticks and corks etc. This does look great on the demo though! |

The clip you posted isn't Japanese TV, it is however Toto a Japanese magician performing the effect. Toto was Fujii Akira's student.

Anyone thinking the trick actually looks like that "visible penetration" in that edited video needs to have his head examined.
What....you guys have started believing in real magic? And by the way, I have three copies of THE CARDICIAN for sale and I can have Ed Marlo autograph one for you for only an extra $100. Let me know! ;-)

And by the way, I like Mr. Akira's handling 100%. My previous post wasn't about the routine, just those comments about the middle part of the video.

Guys come on....
I can't stand this. So many have lied to us with false advertising that when something genuinely good comes along we're jaded. As with anything in life, consider the source. Check out Akira's previous work. Look at the quality of material he's put out in the past. He's great at making the difficult look easy, and the easy look beautiful. Get past watching the friggin' trailer 20 times and start working on magic. I just showed this trailer to a ROOMFUL of knowledgeable magicians in Philly this past weekend. All fooled, and they all are going to be getting this DVD. I advise you guys do the same. If you guys are fooled by this video, what do you think you're going to do to your audiences once you've put the time and practice in? On the bottom of the advert, it says,"All that’s required is: two hands, cigarettes, time to master the effect and the discipline to practice."
