Just say'in.
I worked in a movie theatre for 3 years and that only cemented my love for popcorn. I thought of it because I was just watching this with my daughter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EaiQIggpHNo

I bet the cleaners don't.

I co-managed a Movie Theatre in San Jose in the late 70s. The smell was wonderful. We had our own popper (which is not always the case). I was a vegetarian at the time so instead of having a hot dog for lunch I'd make a "corn dog" with the popcorn, bun and condiments (it was really good).
Sadly, the fake butter is horrible for us and and the kernels can be really hard on my teeth, so I don't have Pop Corn often now, and almost never in theaters. Still, I miss it. - Mary Mowder |

It was the Mayfair on E. Santa Clara St. It was sold and renamed when I left.
Steve Wosniak of Apple fame owned it. Really good times, I liked my coworkers and the clientele. I did not like the movies we played for the most part. I was not in charge of booking and would have failed horribly had I been. - Mary Mowder |

Popcorn, no butter, with a little pepper is a good movie-watching snack and popping it is fun for kids.
Someone tried to feed me some microwaved popcorn once - I didn't like the smell or the taste.

I don't like popcorn. It's like eating a fart.

My daughter spent a couple of years with the Big Apple Circus working as a roustabout/usher. (She had to quit when she fell off a ramp and blew out her knee).
To this day, she can't stand popcorn. Me, I love popcorn. I have missed the openings of movies because I was out in the lobby getting the popcorn.

I like popcorn too, but I need to have a Coca Cola next to the popcorns, because I always get thirsty then I eat popcorn.

Interesting about your daughter. I would think that eating popcorn at the theater 4-6 times a week for 3 years would make me feel the same way, ...but it only made me love it more! Sounds like Mary knows what I'm talking about. In general I don't like butter on my popcorn because it makes my hands to messy, but I love the movie theater popcorn that's cooked in oil. I like microwave popcorn to, and in that case I go for Orville brand "movie theater butter" popcorn; it's too messy but it's close enough in taste that I don't mind.

Kettle corn is one of my favorite snacks-both salty and sweet! Now if someone made a kettle corn with a hint of cayenne... That'd be perfection!

Ed mentioned The Big Apple Circus. PBS ran a six part series on that circus, very interesting, they didn't show popcorn at all.

I saw the first episode of that. It was great, but I didn't see anymore. I'll see if it's on-line somewhere.

I love popcorn. Try it with some Zatarain's Creole Seasoning, it's awesome.
