Those fittings at the top of the Eurika table base always wiggle. (unlike like the old days)
I've tried epoxy but would like to know if anyone else tried either A. Drilling straight through and putting a long fastener through or B. Soldering the fitting with plumbing solder and propane? And a happy thanksgiving.

I tried the drilling through, and it did not work, as it is a difference in size problem. Using some kind of filling would be more of an answer, to fill in the space between the pipe and flange. Remembering the old ones used silicon glue, this may still be the answer, just let it dry before handling.
The problem with solder is that it needs something to stop if from running out. |

The OLD ones were threaded tube, soldered directly on the upright tube of the base.
I'll try epoxy.

I was speaking of the ones with conduit thread coupling on the end. I believe I purchased min back in the late 1970's, that is old to me. They had put silicon Rubber before putting on the thread coupling.
I have a Mak Magic base that came with my Murder Inc., that has the silicon rubber as well. It has a set screw on the side of the coupling. |

Bill,
Mine are the same and use 1/2" water pipe thread. I use them for everything! The knobs crack and the rubber feet come off. But so what? I think I still have sixteen of them I use in my theater stage shows for table bases and scenery. I would recommend them in heartbeat. Mine came from Jimmy King at MAK. Bob Sanders Magic By Sander |
