Has anyone seen a source for hollow, transparent plastic balls about four to six inches in diameter, with no seam? Am I dreaming?

You did not say clear if that is not an issue. Christmass tree balls at the dollar store are made of plastic no seems but of course the bump where you hook it on the tree. If you need clear look at the craft stores Joanna's or Michaels used to have christmass balls you could put a photo in. I hope this helps.

Christmas tree balls do have bumps for the hook. I would say that that could be fixed by sanding it off. Then covering that area with a patch of a sort.

You can buy clear plastic balls of all sizes at Hobby Lobby. They come apart in the middle...but I don't think you're going to find clear plastic globes with absolutely NO seams.

Logic would tell me that hollow balls would either have to be made via injection molding, with halves joined during or after the molding process, or by blow molding, in which case there would have to be an entry point for the air (like the mouth of a soda bottle).

I occationally find the ones they use in childrens ball pits for play places. At places like K-Mart and Target.
