Hi All:
You may notice the small red and white banner ad that's appeared at the top left hand side of the Penny Forum. If you click on it you'll be magically transported to a promo page for The ThoughtControl Wallet. This is an item I first thought of 15 years ago, and after a period of R&D I went to Kerry Pollock of Wireless Wizardry (the folks who make Show-Tech; that great cassette prediction effect; the best bar stool levitation ever; etc.) and Kerry made it happen. I've been using the effect in shows around the world for the past 12 years, and I shared the wallet's secrets with very few people, and for a very high price. After I'd been doing my routine(s) with the ThoughtControl Wallet for a number of years, I'd heard that Bob Swadling of the UK was using a similar wallet to perform a similar effect. I spoke with Bob, who is a lovely guy, and we agreed that it was a matter of independent discovery. Changes in technology have allowed me to make a deal with Wireless Wizardry so that I can now share The ThoughtControl Wallet with more Mentalists at a very reduced price. Have a look at the promo page. So far the plan is to make only 50 of these, first come first served. cheers, - entity

I don't own your wallet so this comment may be well off base and if it is I apologize in advance? But, with all the wallets out there, it seems well over priced. The effect while interesting seems a little weak for $500 and I know your including the chair prediction but with so many ways of doing that I don't see the justification again of the $500 expense.
Just my opinion and not a condemnation. Cheers.
Just cause they say it, doesn't make it true.

It's the same price as Colour match from Promystic and achieves the same thing.
i.e. You know certain pieces of information that you can act on as appropriate. Expensive , yes. Overpriced, I didn't think so. Just my opinion. Steve |

Professional quality equipment and scripted routines, especially those using electronics, take years to develop and perfect, are costly to manufacture and market, and so are not cheap.
JDMagic - Are you a performer? For a working Mentalist this more than pays for itself after one performance. - entity

Jdmagic357 - Do you have any idea what professional caliber magic equipment costs?
In 1970 I was able to obtain one of the last large Rising Cards made by Jon Martin. When the most expensive in the world at that time sold for $100 I happily paid $250 for a Martin prop, especially since he had died two years before and no more props would be made. A few years ago I paid $2500 for my back up Martin Rising Cards from the estate of the late Al Sharpe. I was happy to have it. A number of years ago I brokered a deal between two top mentalists who were both friends of mine but didn't know each other. One sold the other an exclusive 25-minute routine for $5,000. The buyer was pleased and made more than his cost in one show. Reliability is paramount if you're performing professional and Tom's device is that. Secondly, a routine that has been refined and perfected over more than a decade is itself worth the price. People are entitled to an opinion, but it should be an informed opinion, not one that floats in on a whim. |

But, David, it's obvious that this is info coming from a REAL performer and I'm not sure the Café is the place for this.
Tom, congrats, my friend. I know that this is going to be a killer because you have proven time and time again that whatever you touch turns into gold. -rob |

Yes, I must admit Tom, this does look like a wonderful piece of kit....congratulations on its release. For the working pro $500 for this is simply peanuts.....

Parmenion:
It's a regular-sized breast pocket wallet. The measurements are approx. 7 in. by 3.5 in. but slightly larger wallets are available for people in countries with larger currency than here in North America. T. Baxter
