My 3 phase card routine (It's been mentioned in other threads)
Malini Egg Bag I think the real point, of topics like this, is to establish what routines you enjoy performing the most. |

If I was to perform just one un-gimmicked effect per table, it would definetely be the Muscle Pass. This is such a powerful and atention grabbing routine that people will remember for a very long time. The best gimmicked effect I perform has got to be the Bill Tube using flash bank notes, very strong and dramatic.

I haev to agree there are many more tricks that I like to perform then what the audiece wants to see however
soem of my favs are indeed audience favs too. I like my mini change bag routine for walk around at the restarant for the kids - they crack up and laugh so much that when I get to the next table with kids they ask what was going on over there what did you do. I also enjoy card on celiling and they alwasy as for that as there are dozens of cards all over the ceiling at the restaurant. thanks all for your reponses its fun to hear your opinions.

Alan, I didn't say I didn't enjoy performing sponge bunnies because how can you hate something that your spectators go crazy over. I just think I have other effects that I really like performing more that I know won't get the reaction sponge bunnies get. In fact I'd love to see someone perform something like.... Quantum Bender 2 that costs half a grand stand on one side of the room and another perform sponge bunnies at approx. $8 on the other side of the room. Both perform these effects well. Which one would get the bigger reaction? If both get great reactions as I suspect they would, which one would the magician prefer to perform?
IF my fee for this event was $500 I know the answer. If my fee was $5,000 then it might have a different answer. I don't think I really have a point here. |

Gimmicked: NFW I like these threads. There can never be to many of them. To tell you the truth, I think that we can use less knock off or copy cat bashing witch hunts here on the Café. Sam, Thanks for posting. Patrick |

I am with Patrick here.
It never ceases to amaze me that people who do not like a thread, or who get wrapped up in parsing meaning, never consider NOT posting and ignoring that particular thread. Just an idea. Ungimmicked - BCS Gimmicked - WOW Tony |

Odd how much I dislike sponge bunnies, but how much the audience loves them. Since I am not paying me to perform, the audience gets to see them. They take up lots of room in my pocket, are not that elegant and oh well, I love the reaction, but hate the trick. They get to see them.
Ultimately that is who gets to deceide what I do and do not perform.

If I had to choose only one for the rest of my life it would be The Cups & Balls for ungimmicked and Backs To The Future for gimmicked.

Slight of Hand: Sponge I's also known as Black I. Guys if you don't like doing sponge bunnies but you love the reactions, check out Black I's it gets the same reaction and the size of these are much less then balls, or bunnies.

If I just had to do just one? Sam the Bellhop! and yes I can do it walk around. Just need a corner of a table to do the cool flip over moves.

Three Card Monte (ungimmicked)
Invisible Deck No question...although the bunnies would be a good choice for the Little People.
