Dear friends who have purchased iPredict,
As many of you know, Rostami Magic recently released a new magic app for the iPhone called iPredict: http://bit.ly/goXnfu My partner Randy and I had great expectations about the release of this app and its marketing efforts to the magic community. Hence the reason why we took out a banner ad on the Café as well as Steve Brooks' BIG message to all 45,600 Café members. We just knew that iPredict would be a succes because: 1. It was the successor to iForce 2. It gave you a LEGITIMATE reason why you're using an iPhone. 3. It didn't look like you're using ANY APP!! 4. We decided to price iPredict out of the reach of the casual iPhone user with a $9.99 price. We thought . . . 46,000 members, about half of them are in the US, 1 out of 11 of them has an iPhone . . . so let's say only 10% of these folks buys iPredict . . . We would get about 210 sales. WELL, we're now averaging less then 4 sales a day of iPredict . . . If you haven't done the math yet, THAT'S VERY LOW. So, we asked ourselves, why is iPredict a failure? Is it a bad trick? Is it that it's only in the US? After investigating the statistics of how many people clicked on the ad banner, and then went ALL the way through to the purchase we realized that only 1 out of 30 of you wanted to buy the app. We then went back to the stats that we had during the release of iForce, and realized the ratio of purchases was more like 1 out of 1.5 of whoever saw the demo video, bought iForce. The obvious answer that we came up with is PRICE . . . iForce is $2.99 . . . iPredict is $9.99 In the real world of magic dealers, $9.99 is a cheap trick . . . but in the iPhone world $9.99 might as well READ $1,000,000 !!! Hence, the reason why we have to reduce the price of iPredict to $2.99 . . . we really don't think anyone is going to buy it at $9.99 regardless of how good it is. To those of you, who have purchased iPredict at $9.99 , I sincerely apologize. Both Randy and I would like to thank you for your support and royalty. We are certain that you'll agree that iPredict will give you many AMAZING magic performances that are well worth the $9..99 price you've paid . . . but I'm afraid at this price, we don't think we are EVER going to make our investment back. When iForce came out, SO MANY of you wrote to me about how LOW iForce was priced. Everyone said "raise the price so the curious can't have it." With iPredict, we tried that route, and unfortunately our sales are NO where close to breaking even. regards, Greg Rostami |

Well, okay. I paid 9.99 and it is worth it. I also think the original price was fair and struck a nice balance -- affordable for magicians while too high for casual purchasers. My only comment is that this has only been out for a couple of weeks and I'm sure as word got out within the community sales would have picked up. I guess the question is whether the magic community alone could support an app like this.

I hope sales at least pick up now. I'm glad I paid 9.99. I completely agree with Bugjack on the price point, but it's obviously you put a lot of work and money into it and you need to get that back.

I had trouble with this one working and decided to delete it and reload it. Greg told me that it was a version 3 operating system glitch but that there was an update out there for it. Alas now it does not appear on the applications store! Apple are going to refund me the money; I still would like to get this, though. Any suggestions?

Hi captainsmiffy,
iPredict is not available on the UK app store. If iPredict is succesful in the US then we will look into the investment of having the phone numbers available in the UK. The main reason why it isn't available outside of the US is the phone number(s) that you have to call are in the US. We are afraid that we'll have lawsuits on our hands when people start making international calls just to perform iPredict. Greg Rostami |

Greg,
Yes, am puzzled because my account is a UK one but I live in the middle east. I was able to download it once - but not any more! Does it make a difference if you are using the same account but physically present in another country? My flying job tales me all over the world but I assumed that the account was fixed ie in the UK. God alone knows how I got the application in the first place...!! (Still want it though! I love iforce BTW!) Cheers Martyn

Would it have been possible to create a "lite" version that worked at the most rudimentary level and offered that at the lower price, and then for a premium, you could have "unlocked" the extra features that gave you the most flexibility in performing?

Hello friends,
First let me address Philemon's request. Over the last few days that we've dropped the price, our sales haven't really changed. I think that our gut feeling about pricing iPredict at $9.99 was the correct one. Randy and I are gonna wait until the end of the year to make a final decision on raising the price back up to $9.99 Also . . . Apple today approved iPredict V. 1.02 This version addressed the rare duplicate contacts problem that some people have reported. We also looked further into iOSes that are older then 3.2 We think we solved all of the problems that our users were having with older iPhones or iPod Touches. If you have upgraded iPredict to the latest version, please let me know if it fixed your problems by either posting here or PMing me. Thank you, Greg Rostami |

Hello friends,
Merry Christmas. During this holiday season, I performed a LOT of iPredict. I had a chance to video a few of them. So here's the YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cwPORk74zc I'd love to know what you think, Greg Rostami |

Hello friends,
The Instruction video for iPredict is now available. For those of you who own iPredict, simply go to the "Settings" page, touch "Online Videos", and select "Instructions". This short video will explain EXACTLY how I performed the demo video of iPredict. Sorry about the long delay for this video. The holidays really got in the way. Greg Rostami |

I want to say that I purchased Ipredict and loaded it to a first generation Ipod and it didn't work. Greg was very fast at answering my emails and letting me know that he was aware of the problem and a fix was on the way in the near future. So as far as using Ipredict it hasn't happened yet, But as far as customer service goes Greg is top notch... Thank you Greg for your quick responses. I am waiting anxiously for the new app to be approved.

I feel extremely mislead by this app. I bought the app thinking that the $2.99 fee would be the only form of investment I'd have to make for this app. Well that thought was wrong. I can't perform this trick because it uses long distance U.S minutes since I live in Canada. The big selling point in the trick description is that the spectator can dial the number on their own phone. However, I would not put that charge on someone elses phone.
Take this as a warning to any future purchasers buying from Canada that you may not be limited to the $2.99. I think Greg should put a disclaimer in the description. This is my first and last app purchased by this author. Evan |

That's irrelevant. I wouldn't go through pages of forums looking for this nor do I have the time. I figured everything in this app was internal and self contained, which it is not when I, or Canadian spectators, have to make long distance phone calls to do this trick. I just did not get what I expected and instead of me rating it 1-star and writing a crappy review on the AppStore, I figured it would be more appropriate to state my review on here.
