Hello once again, just wondering if you can send me to a place where sells cups and balls like these:
Not the exact set there, but a similar shape - tall but thin. Thanks in advance, Kevin |

Stevens Magic sells a version (heavy brass) made by our own Pete Biro. They are called the Johnny Paul cups. Check them out at:
http://www.stevensmagic.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=946 Harries Magic also sells a very nice and slightly larger size set. It is called the Classic Bosco set. Try: http://www.harriesmagic.com/engelsk/first.html

Thanks Harry, very useful. The first ones are a little expensive, and I was after aluminium ones anyway, so the ones in the second link look fine!
Still looking out for them so more links would be great guys! Thanks again. |

You can contact them on the lonk mention in Harry's post. Jonas Karlsson Vibono Magic Sweden

I believe riser has some cups like this also.
By the way, on the topic of where to find some cups and balls, does anyone know where to get steel ball loads like Gertner's Cups and Steel? I just like the idea of using something that makes noise against the cups, make it seem that much more impossible. |

I think I saw a set (aluminum) exactly like these in a display case in international magic the other day, not sure how much they were but you could give them a call.

You might want to check with Davenport's. The last catalog I have from them has aluminium cups of this style. It's an old catalog, though.

I have both the Harries Bosco cups and the Pete Biro Johnny Paul cups, and I have to say you get what you pay for. The finish on the Harries cups is appalling (the customer service leaves something to be desired too!) - Pete's are first class.
Jim Riser also has his traditional cups - you probably will not find better quality cups than Jim's anywhere, but you will, of course, pay a bit more One more thing, the Harries cups are a fair bit bigger than Pete's if that is important to you Hope that helps Bob |

You might look on ebay and search "cups balls" and you will find what you want.
My Johnny Paul Cups are smaller than those shown in your post. Jim Riser makes a set close to what you want, but none of the quality makers use aluminum, it is too soft. There are a lot of aluminum cups coming in from India and they are very low priced.

Thanks for all your advice and links, Pete, I guess I will have to settle for copper then!
Thanks again, Kevin |
