I have an item I am trying to find out who made it and also a possible routine. The item is a coke bottle that appears to have been split right down the middle. It has been sealed (each half) it could hold "Coke" if you will. Perhaps you show as one bottle full and then under cover of a silk they split into two. Just a guess. Any idea who might have made these? Thank you!

I know that Werry in Germany brought out an effect with the productions of plenty of Coke bottles using the split ones, but I don't know if you can get it still, since it was years ago.

I don't know if this is what you are looking for but Oliver Ross is speaking of Werry's Bottle Production Supreme here:

Richard Himber, or Merv Taylor (or both) may be responsible, I remember 'SPLIT A DRINK' from them in the early '50s.

Yes, I seem to remember a split bottle trick at least 10 years ago. It is is probably not available any longer, for some reason I seem to think it was Pepsi and not Coke.

I believe Paul Kozak was using the described gaff made from Perrier bottles when he was doing comedy clubs.

Someone had an effect naked "Split a Coke". It was a glass coke bottle you could split apart and they were sealed so you could drink out of them. I believe the maker of those has passed on however.

I think "Split a Coke" might be it. These bottles looked older (based on size and glass) and they are sealed and go flat together to appear as one.

Good luck finding those anymore. Might just need to make your own. I would suggest doing it out of modern 20oz bottles however.

Anytime I display a Nielsen Coke bottle, there isn't a kid over the age of 3 that doesn't immediately know what it is. The beauty of Coke is that the logo and bottle shape are iconic. We can thank a hundred years of their advertising dollars for that. Besides, glass Coke bottles are still available in many stores, probably more so depending on where you live. Now, when it comes to actually making a set of these gimmicked bottles, that may be a different story.

Guess what I found? It was not a coke bottle, that is the problem. It is made by Ickle Pickle and is called 'Split Pepsi Bottle', so Gary Barker can't tell the difference between Coke and Pepsi, I guess he would lose the taste test!
http://www.makmagic.com/product-popup.asp?prodid=P2509 Does not look like a routine is provided from the dealer discription. It would have lots of possibilites. Click here to view attached image. |

It is joke prop. Split Pepsi Bottle - I. Pickle A clever little gag prop Here is some add copy for it. "Because of the recent rise in disease, Pepsi came out with a new product. Should you want to split a Pepsi with someone --- it's not a problem" You then unscrew the lid and separate the halves of Pepsi.. How about the person on a diet who wants to drink only a half a bottle of Pepsi? Each half is liquid tight and could hold different colored liquids |

I just pulled mine out and confirmed...this is a older glass coke bottle split and a great piece. Ickle Pickle does make some great products as well. This one is vintage.

I have one of the original glass SPLIT Coke Bottles. Fill each side with Coke and put the halves together... it looks like a typical vintage bottle of Coke. "Split" the bottle into two and say, "Wanna split a drink?"
I'm going to put this up for sale on Magic Surplus Exchange (SME) on Facebook. Anyone interested in buying it before I do? |

Years ago, Coke made a plastic door handle for refrigerators that was half a bottle. There were a few beer companies that also made door handles.
