You can do either. The nature of the gaff lets you keep it in a deck, and cut straight to it (without being too obvious) if need be. However, if you want to do a full deck routine where the spectator handles the deck, you'd be better off keeping it in a wallet.

Just a shout out to the great customer service that Kozmo Magic provides.
I ordered Twizted from Hocus-Pocus and received it yesterday. Popped the DVD in and started following along with the teaching of Twizted and when I pushed the card over the thread snapped, much to my dismay. I PM's Koz asking if I could just buy the gimmick off of him and he told me that he would take care of me and send me a new gimmick free of charge. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE from the guys at KozmoMagic. They earned a customer for life and I figured Id brag on them a little as well. |

I held off getting this because these gaffs do break. It says it's based on Mark Mason's work and those gaffs break right away. That's great the producer replaced the gaff, but what if it breaks while performing? OUCH!

I loved the visual and so did the two people I got to perform it for before it broke! Too bad this is the case because you truly get great visuals with these gaffs. RNK PS- that's why I love Switchblade- no strings to break!

I've had one of Mark's effects since WMS 09 and haven't broken it yet! Mark was also kind enough to explain how to fix em if they do break and it's really no big deal!
As Eric states, don't man handle the props and you should be fine! MMc |

MickeyPainless, if you only take it out of the drawer every 5 years just to look at, no wonder it lasted so long!

I have several of Mark Mason's gaffed card effects using this thread, and though most are still working without any problems I have had a couple that needed repairs. (One was delivered "frayed" and one just became extremely "loose"). I wrote Mark and asked about the availability of the same thread he uses and he sold me a couple of mini-spools of it for $5 each. (Though he also sent me free replacements for the gaffed cards themselves!).
My problem with trying to make repairs to the cards that needed them is twofold: First, the thread is not very easy to work with! Not being an IT user I have had a lot of problems just trying to re-thread the cards with this IT! Secondly, I have been trying desperately to make the repairs in a way that the knot itself - if I EVER manage to actually get a knot tied without breaking the thread! - is almost impossible to pull tight if you want the knot between two cards. So if anyone has any tips on just how to make these repairs (with real human hands and eyes!) please send me a PM! As for Twizted, I have the pre-release version from Eric and I will most definitely be picking up this DVD as soon as I can. I don’t know much about the added effects/routines on the DVD since the pre-release version, but the Twizted effect itself is a great one! Thanks! Jim |

I have found that working with this thread is a little difficult. And I had my Heartbeat gimmick for 2 or 3 performances in one night and SNAP. So I didn't even have a chance to manhandle mine. So if you don't manhandle them and they still break- What's that mean Eric? Is it still our fault? Some of you may have not had that much of a problem with these types of gimmicks- I am just saying that I have had a fair amount of trouble with these. And to spend $40 to take a chance that it will break maybe within 1 day of using it- sorry not for me. But that doesn't mean it's not for you! To each his own. RNK
