I was sittin' and bummin' out thinking about Duane Allman and I put out the lights and lit some incense and listened to this oldster (audio)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTFvAvsHC_Y

so maybe y'all might want to do the same and perhaps link up to your favorite bluesy song and we can forget about documents (why have I not seen the term documentgate yet?), political stuff, and all that BS and just enjoy the music..... to you musicians out there god bless ya cuz you do good stuff for us mortals.

The Seatbelts featuring Yoko Kanno "The Real Folk Blues"

Just saw an episode of Cowboy Bebop on TV and I remembered how awesome this song was. Really though, everything about this series was awesome...

Thank you Santa. It's an ability I'm grateful for every day. In fact, I'm off to teach 8 others how to do it.

THIS recording is thought by many experts to be the very first rock and roll recording ever produced, but it's still got blues coming out of it's arse.

Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup "That's All Right" RCA Victor 50-0000, produced in 1946.

Heck, Elvis played mostly blues covers when he became the "King of Rock 'n Roll."

I always liked the West Side blues, as played here by Magic Sam. Come to think of it, a good name for a blues man mentioned here.

Speaking of Elvis and animal tunes, when my uncle used to hustle pool (now he's a semi-retired semi-pro) he used to introduce himself as Ted E. Bear. Not even kidding.

Waitaminute... We got all these animal blues and no songs about trains! How you gonna do a blues song without trains?
I must rectify this situation.

You know I'm gonna' get Junior in there:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSDo2dtgGUI

A little vinyl for my fellow anachronisms:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ne_U25ryLjc&feature=related

And here's some country blues:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qsDAyA8ANw

Just a personal note, I learned to blow harp from listening to Junior. He was the man.

What a great thread, girls and guys!
besides magic, music is the greatest constant in my life and my preferencies are in blues and rock, so all of your offers are to the point of my taste, all of them are really great!
so, I like all kind of harmonic music, no matter if it is bach, monteverdi, acdc, metallica, guns and roses, eric clapton, gary moore, stevie ray vaughan, wagner, haendel, aerosmith, led zeppelin, beatles, rolling stones, etc, etc. ...but, one of my favorite live acts, was, is and always will be.....juke....( I suppose, just a very few of you will have heard of them. they played in europe in the 80/90s of the last century ( Smile ) ok, they splitted and will never play again together( I believe Mickey Kearns, one of the Juke-Horns, died a few years ago on the big C), but I thank Bob Harding (Keyboarder and Brain of the band) very much to have kept this recordings! I hope you enjoy these performances as a much as I (me?). If you enjoy it, you can do some research, bobjuke1 on youtube is the keyboarder and has some 127 videos on the platform.
I pre-selected some of them for you.
But... the first video is one of Stevie Ray Vaughan...every time I see it, I am speechless, his demonstration of rude mude is beyond all ever can be achieved on the guitar, one of my all-time heroes.
Hope you will enjoy my

I carry a juke box in my pocket, it is called ipod. It not only fits into my pocket, but if I plug it into my car radio I then have over a week of continuous hand picked music at my disposal.
