For those of you that are coming to the convention (and those that aren't yet) the Registration Desk will officially open on Tuesday,
June 28 at 2:00pm at the Sheraton Hotel. This is your time to pick up your registration materials AND register for your Special Interest Group (SIG) sessions. Here is a list of the SIG sessions that will be offered: SIG #1 - Self Working Card Magic Workshop - taught by Jon Armstrong SIG #2 - Business Card Magic - taught by Michael Ammar SIG #3 - Newspaper Magic - taught by Gene Anderson SIG #4 - Be A Busker, Not A Beggar - taught by Rod Sipe SIG #5 - Stand-Up Comedy for Magicians - taught by Gerry Katzman SIG #6 - Social Media Magic - taught by Brad Ross SIG #7 - Performing For Children - taught by Sammy Smith SIG #8 - Television Magic & Promo Videos - taught by Gay Blackstone SIG #9 - Jumpstart Your Career - taught by Brad Ross SIG #10 - FREE Publicity - taught by Jeff Crilley SIG #11 - Effective Emceeing - taught by Rich Bloch SIG #12 - Real Secrets of the Business of Restaurant Magic - taught by Scott Wells SIG #13 - Cruise Ship Secrets - taught by Shawn Farquhar SIG #14 - Hard Card Moves Made Easier - taught by Jon Armstrong SIG #15 - The "Big Easy" Balloon Twisting - taught by Daniel Herron & Tom Vorjohan SIG #16 - Pimp Up Your Magic With Visual Power - taught by Timo Marc You will be able to select up to FOUR sessions from the above list, based on availability. Please note that you cannot register for specific sessions prior to arriving in Dallas. You'll be able to choose your classes upon arriving at the Registration area any time after 2:00pm on Tuesday, June 28. Complete class descriptions will be available at the Registration area. |

O boy this should cause a large jam up at registration at 2:00 with 600+ people trying to determine when and which SIG to sign up for.... Just a thought.

Hey Mr. Bob... Well, it'll remain to be seen how the process works... however, we are taking as many steps as we can to insure the best possible scenario under the circumstances. For example, the regular registration desk will handle the basics of getting your registration materials. After you pick up these materials (your name badge, souvenir program, schedules, show tickets, etc.), you'll move to the SIG registration desk where you'll select your SIG classes. There will be large signs posted that will help you read about each class, so when you get to the front of the line, you should already know which classes you'd like tickets for. There will be several SIG registration lines operating concurrently to insure moving as many folks through as quickly as possible.
It sounds workable on paper... but who knows... some folks may have to wait a few minutes, we'll see. It's just one of the risks in trying anything new. ![]() If this process fails miserably, then feel free to walk up to me and say "I told ya so!" ![]() I'm looking forward to seeing you in Dallas! How about the evening shows at the Majestic. Are they open to the public? I have friends in the Dallas-Ft Worth area that may be interested. Thanks.

Mr. Bob...
Yes, the evening shows at the Dallas Majestic Theatre are open to the public. Your friends may purchase tickets here: http://www.attpac.org/ or by calling 214-880-0202. The tickets go on sale this Friday (June 10)... so they'll have to wait until after that date to find the shows listed on the website. Thanks! David Sandy IBM Convention Co-Chairman |
