I think you gave me that tip before Al, and it's a great idea. It is a little late this year, but I'll try to remember it for my Christmas country club gigs next year! I wish you and yours the best in the new year!
Take care, Bryan |

A six hour walk around job, on New Years Eve, at the Trump Casino in Atlantic City is quite a booking, congratulations.

Thanks Al! I've been doing it for about 8 or 9 years now lol. It's one of my regular gigs. I've mainly been sticking to casinos, corporate events, and country clubs lately.

I wouldn't do 8 rubber band tricks. God talk about boring. Heck 8 of any sort of tricks in any set seems a bit too much.

I agree with Danny 100%, but I think Al actually meant that he has those 8 tricks available to use not that he uses them at each table. That would be excessive! I personally try to keep it 2-3 tricks MAXIMUM per table. Hit them hard, have fun, make them laugh, and move on to another table. Not only will they want to see more magic, and come back for more if it's a regular restaurant gig, but you'll also have more time to hit more tables and get more tips.

My "A list" of routines includes only one card routine, because that routine is extremely strong. Here's a list of the other material that I performed at both strolling gigs from the past week: None/Nun, My Bar Bet Copper Silver Transpo, Ring and String, Sponge Bunnies, Egg Bag.
I also performed Fiber Optics, Mismade Bill and Phil Plus (another strong card routine) at the first gig, as a way to perform a second set. If you're going to perform any card material at all, it had better be highly entertaining. Most card material that I see bores me to tears, but of course there are performers who could entertain me at length with nothing but cards. |

I usually do a routine (CMH/stargazer) featuring two rubber band tricks, one or two Dusheck tricks, a pearl poodle for the ladies, and it's on to the next table.
