Guess they forgot to tell Bill Buckley.

LOL, oh man, that is funny, and terribly sad.

I always found the pc-ification of "christmas" to be really ridiculous. I have no problem with someone expressing to me their celebration of a holiday.

On a similar, but different note, here is something incredibly beautiful and heartfelt about christmas, yet probably not what you would expect:

Though I'm not sure I agree with everything he says 100%, but I think I empathize with him completely.
It's amazing, people will criticize you for "biting the hand that feeds you," while they're busy praising the hand that beats them.

Last week I was in Moscow on Thursday and Kiev on Friday. There were signs proclaiming "Merry Christmas!" The receptionists at the hotels say, "Merry Christmas!"

How sad.

Or ironic.

At least it's not yet regulated.

Christmas has been celebrated there for far longer than it ever has been anywhere in North America. Even during communist rule, many Russian Christmas traditions continued. Or so I've been told.

Talk about a war on Christmas:

Giant Christmas tree stokes tensions on Korean peninsula

Quote:
South Korea has lit a massive steel Christmas tree that overlooks the world’s most heavily armed border and is within sight of North Korea, prompting threats of attack from the communist state …

North Korea, officially atheist and with only a handful of sanctioned churches in Pyongyang with services for foreigners, warned that lighting the tree would constitute a “dangerous, rash act” with the potential to trigger a war.

It's hard to tell what she meant, but this strikes me as a huge case of confirmation bias. Thousands of broadcasters say "Merry Christmas" or some such without notice. Once broadcaster says something odd ("forgive the expression--Christmas Party") and it's evidence of widespread decay.

This story fits the complaint; all the counter-examples are ignored.

Merry Christmas my friends.

I think there are now more baptized Christians in China than members of the Communist Party.

All I know is on December 25th each year it becomes very very difficult to separate the politicians, judges and law makers who support and are against Christmas. They have one thing in common---they all agree it is a day that they should have off! Happy Holidays is a nice way of saying season greetings I understand that. Happy Thanksgiving, Happy New Year---Happy halloween. I understand. But again Christmas is set aside as we wish everyone a Merry Christmas. But when someone says "Happy Holidays" to me I reply "Happy Holidays and have a safe and Merry Christmas". I just like saying Merry Christmas. The fact is Christmas is a special day. What makes it so special is it really is all inclusive. Regardless of who you are you are actually welcomed by everyone to celebrate it with us.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

OK, I want to see a film on African beliefs with a white guy playing one of THEIR deities.

I take comic books pretty seriously, but even I would not call them a religion.

Also, though my Nordic saga studies are pretty rusty, I'm pretty sure there is nothing in there that says "no blacks in asgard" Maybe "no Swedes", but who knows...

Just sayin' .
