I am getting back into magic...again.

I am going to a magic store on Monday. I am planning on getting Scotch and Soda. I also would like to get another trick. I am already working on sponge balls.

Any suggestions for an easy to do truck that is visual? I am open to anything but card tricks. at this point, it should use lttle to no sleight of hand. I don't want to spend more than $15 on the second trick.

Thanks in advance.

What if the Hokey Pokey really IS what it's all about? Smile

My neighbor rang my doorbell at 2:30 a.m. this morning, can you believe that, 2:30 a.m.!? Lucky for him I was still up playing my drums.

P.S. as an afterthought, the Ellis ring move will train you for hopping half and other S***L coin tricks later.....

Angio333,

You may want to think twice bout the Scotch and Soda. As a returning magician, the Scotch ad Soda you may remember using the 20 centavo Mexican coin may be out of date. That coin is not one commonly in circulation any more.

Life changes!

Very beginning level sponge balls, a few gimmick tricks, and a few self-working or "set up" type card tricks.

I decided to just focus on getting sponge balls down and start working aon cups and balls.

I found that Michael Ammar's Cups & Balls DVDs (they sell for about $15 on his website) is a good place to start with the Cups & Balls.

Learn just a few good ones....and then "own" it. Perfect it, polish it..... it's NOT how many as much as how well you perform it.

If you're thinking about using the Cups and Balls as part of a regular bit, you should spring for some good ones. They work the same way as the cheap ones (mostly), but the appearance adds considerably to the impact it has on an audience. (Actually, they do handle a little better, too!) I started with a set of spun aluminum that looked ok, but when I "stepped up" to the shiney brass it took my performance to a new level.

Hot Rod (or one of its derivatives) is also a good choice.

I also really like Gem Busters. I've seen a version done completely in metal that looks awesome.
