Can anyone provide me with a source for empty poker and jumbo Bicycle card boxes. Sadly, the fellow that operated Cards By Martin died a few months ago.

I can't understand why the boxes are so expensive. I can buy a dozen decks for less than $15 (US) which is a lot less than 12 of these empty boxes. I don't know if you have Costco or Sam's Club or BJs in Vancouver, but you might. Throw away the decks if all you want is the box. It's cheaper than ordering $2 empty boxes.

These are the last of the "old" design boxes. Sam's has the new boxes.........so if old vs new doesn't matter, box with cards is the best deal.

Wow! $2 for the empty box only? That's pricey! Too bad we don't have Costco down here, otherwise all of my spending would end up there
I need about 30 decks to build force decks.

About a year ago they were available from Penguin (and anybody else wholesaling from Murphy's) for 30 cents or so. Then when the box design changed, the price jumped to $2. Go figure.

$2 for an empty box? I thought it was a misprint! Are there alternatives to storing our good condition cards, which outlast their boxes? blank boxes?

For those of you who may wish to design/make your own playing card boxes, here are some online sources for card box templates...
This link - http://www.ee0r.com/boxes/ - takes you to a site that has free downloadable templates for making six types of card boxes, including the regular poker-size cards. Again, those with graphic-savvy can custom-design them. Playing Card Tuck Box Template: http://www.zyan.co.uk/templates.html (scroll down list to find this free .pdf file) Another blank card box template in .pdf format: http://dealmeincustom.com/template.html (right-click on "tuck box" and select "save link as") Finally, here's a company that sells a card box template... actually, it's two hybrid templates in 4 different formats, for only $3.99. Anyone familiar with various graphic editing programs can design the boxes to their liking. Link: http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/Playing......Set.html TED |
