I must admit, I feel rather lucky. As a new magician, I was after a himber wallet from JOL. I will soon be recieving an original himber wallet with note of authentication, letter from Richard Himber and original book.

Not that lucky. You posted on the magicians of old forum. Not the area for item reviews.

An original Himber wallet with a letter of authentication, note from Himber and an original book would be of interest; however, I don't know how much of an "original book" actually came with the original Himber wallets.
Since Richard Himber died about 50 years ago, I don't think I would actually want to USE an original Himber wallet, especially because some of the modern ones are really much more deceptive than the originals. Beware items that purport to be completely original. Remember, anyone can take an original set of Himber instructions and put them together with a wallet that meets up with the description therein and add a letter of authentication which may or may not be genuine. The Himber Wallet Book by Harry Lorayne was published in 1998, over 30 years after Richard Himber died, so it would not have normally been included with an original Himber wallet when it came from Richard Himber. The Harry Loryane book is probably the best on the subject.

Very well informed words from Bill. There are improvements that have been made. Most magicians know this but the original poster may not. Richard Himber 20 February 1900 - 11 December 1966. Was also a very well known big band conductor.
