What about Gilles de Rais?

The transcripts of the trial of Gilles de Rais, which were translated from Latin & old French into modern French by Georges Bataille, are quite interesting.
To a very great extent, the prosecution of Gilles de Rais was prompted by both the maternal and paternal branches of his family, as he was squandering the very great wealth he had inherited -very close to the richest estate in France- on a series of lavish theatrical re-creations of the Battle of Orleans, during which he had distinguished himself at the side of Ste Jeanne d'Arc. However he certainly admitted to, if memory serves, more than 200 murders. He denied, however, that he killed the children as part of exercises in sorcery, explaining to the Bishop who presided, much to the Bishop's consternation and incredulity, that he had murdered the children uniquely for his "sensual delectation," and that was sufficient motive to murder 10,000 people. There can't be more mob violence because there hadn't been any mob violence.
And now that I've seen the video you posted let me amend that to: There can't be more mob violence because there hasn't been any mob violence.

Suit yourself. However, I'll bet you a chocolate milkshake that if that were a crowd of Tea Party people attacking a bus filled with the 14 Democrat Party fellbaggers, you'd judge it rather differently.

Last evening, the DCI identified and located a subject suspected of sending at least two of those threats. (Asterisks added) Woland |

So far this week we have established that an inspector at a food plant is performing an act of violence while a large group moving forward is peaceful. Ya gotta love it!

But I must admit, it does sound odd to me. I suppose it is out of the question that someone else, not a union lib, might have planted them there? Seems convenient that these bullets were found just as Gov. Scott Walker's administration was preparing a court order to clear the State Capital building. It's also sort of odd to me how live ammunition on the ground was considered a threat at this protest, whereas guns (possibly even loaded guns) in the hands of conservative protesters at liberal political rallies last year were being defended by many conservatives. http://www.thegrio.com/top-stories/black......eech.php

Oh, so now a black man in America can't have a weapon if it is legal, is that what you are saying Balducci?
Those rounds of ammo were a significant hazard. Slip and falls are the most common accident and if you step on a bullet you could have it roll under your foot and cause a serious injury. I think the rounds came from people finding out that if they entered the building their will be searches and they checked their pockets and found rounds from a hunting or targetting trip and just tossed 'em. Nothing more evil than that. Wisconsin is mostly honkies and you know how they are when it comes to hunting. |

Woland- those threats the person made, that's horrible. Violence is wrong, disturbing, and disgusting. But I'll say the same thing that both sides have said when something like this happens- there's always the lone nutcase out there.
We shouldn't encourage them, and we should report them when we spot them.

EsnRedShirt,
It's not just a lone nutcase. Threats against the Governor and the Republican State Senators are all over the internet. You can review some of them here. It aint pretty. Meanwhile, nobody has threatened the 14 Democrat Senators who fled the State with anything worse than a recall. Woland |

Now there's a winning slogan: "Republicans--The Peaceable Folk TM"
From last year: "Democratic lawmakers have received death threats and been the victims of vandalism because of their votes in favor of the health care bill, lawmakers and law enforcement officials said Wednesday, as the Congressional debate over the issue headed toward a bitter and divisive conclusion. Representative Steny H. Hoyer, Democrat of Maryland and the majority leader, said at least 10 House members had raised concerns about their personal security since Sunday’s climactic vote, and Mr. Hoyer characterized the cases as serious." http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/25/health......tml?_r=1

Reading through all these posts is very interesting. You can tell a lot about how people think by reading through all this.
If my wife and kids are ever anywhere (when Im not around) I hope and pray that when an evil madman that is intent on killing them starts to shoot, a well trained law abiding citizen pulls a gun and saves them. Those of you that want to ban guns and ammo, I guess you would rather nobody intervene? Because then you would have to struggle with your political issues? |

Speaking of gun laws and regulations:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/03/14......407.html I'm surprised more don't consider things like gun licenses/permits etc to be infringing on rights. I imagine those same people would be outraged if you were required to have a license to speak freely, or practice your religion. Though I'm sure many would be somewhat happy if they had a license for posting on the internet. Then again, think how utterly boring it would get.
