About midway through 2010 my father was diagnosed with accute lukemia. While he is responding to treatment there is still a long way to go.

Just an update. While he is improving, his platelet count remains low. Too low in fact to go to my son's wedding at the end of this month (the wedding is in the Bay Area and we are in South Carolina)

I wish your father 'well'.
Perhaps the wedding can be video'ed?
Best,
Piers.

Dear JRob,

When my 109 year old Aunt died it was not her diagnosed 15 years of Leukemia that killed her.

It is sometimes possible to live with this disease. Don't lose hope.
