Electronics for magicians 2
BY: Jon Thompson (Tomo)
I was very lucky indeed to have sight of this book prior to it being published. This is Jon’s second book on this subject. (If you did not buy the first book don’t hesitate and buy it immediately!).
Jon is a very talented guy and does everything “By the Book”. His Electronic marvels are being sold by many dealers in the UK and abroad. Trust me; if you only use a single item from this book you have saved yourself a ton of money.
With Jon being a Magician and a very clever Mentalist (His book NAKED MENTALISM is a testament to his talent in the craft). All the items in his book have been tried and tested and each one is a GEM.
The book is very well illustrated to help guide the reader to be able to make the Electronic devices without hitches.
It is a mine of information apart of the fact that there are no other writers in the realm of our craft that so willingly teach and explain the hidden secrets in the world of Electronics that helps us create super miracles.
Not long ago Jon has started a company that deals with building Electronic items for Magicians: Subversive Circuits (www.subversivecircuits.co.uk). Please take a look at his website as you may find items that you have been looking for and did not know where to go.
In his new company Jon opens the doors to his vast knowledge and so if you have an idea of sorts why not try talk to Jon?
Anyway, back to the book. Just buy it you will be surprised how good it’s all is.

Does anyone have a list of chapters for either or both books? If I knew the chapter headings I would know if they benefit me or not. Thanks.

There are online previews for both volumes online. Just follow the link to Books By Tomo in my sig.

Many thanks to Roni for the kind words. Much appreciated. If anyone has any questions, drop me a line.

Hey all ... I got this yesterday. I had to have it after purchasing the first one. VERY cool. Also, Lulu is having a 20% off sale, so this becomes even more of a bargain. I can't publish the code here ... but I believe if you search the internet for "Lulu" plus "promotion code" or "coupon" you will find it.

Jon - I can't wait for pt 2.

I have the first book as well and it is brilliant. It's release was perfect timing as I had just started to get into making my own electronics for the bizarre. I'm sure that this book will be just as good, or better! Congrats Tomo!

Thanks guys. There's more to come, and that 20% Lulu discount is even better. They literally waive 20% of their production fees to drive more business through the site, so fill yer boots! The current code is: TREASUREUK305. Lulu runs several promotions like this throughout the year. There's usually one around Valentine's Day, too.

I bought the first book and was pleasantly surprised at how accessible it was to someone who does not have solder flowing through their veins (or in their eyes - that's an in-joke, sorry). The second book is something else. It still makes sense but goes so much further. Fantastic information and, even if you don't want to make this stuff yourself, you will learn that certain really fun things are possible. You should then, with the power of knowledge, be able to pay very little money to have someone build your new inventions for you.

I've not read Tomo's books (yet!) but I've talked to him on another forum, and the man knows his stuff.
This is one of those things I think every serious magician should take a look at; electronics can work miracles in ways more traditional methods may not.
Just hanging out with the rest of my fellow dregs.

Thanks for the kind words.

I think electronics has a lot to offer, especially to bizarre magicians and seance workers. It can literally put the ghost in the machine...

Cheers. I won't leave nearly 2 years between releases this time! It should be out by late spring/early summer.

Just purchased this book. Reading it is making my brain overflow with so many ideas I feel like I might just go insane. Too many possibilities are open to me now - it's like a dreadful curse. I'm going to loose a lot of sleep.

I would respectfully suggest including a ruler within some of the photos. It looks like some of your boards are HUGE when, in fact, they're quite small.

Also, what do you think of covering construction with epoxy so it is a "block" that nobody could get into? Tips on woodworking would be nice, too.
