Greetings,
Can anyone recommend a good DVD teaching effects with a TT? Many thanks, Danny |

I'll suggest two. First, get Patrick Page's DVD on the TT. It is around $12 most places. Second, after you've done some stuff with it and gotten busted by a fifth-grader once, get the L&L World's Greatest collection on the same. Good stuff in both places. Page is better for teaching you the basics and covering the standard tricks with it. The WGM collection has some very good routines that will inspire you to develop something different and new.
I also have Gary Darwin's DVD set from Penguin. While there's some great stuff on it, I don't find it to be as good a value for the money as either of the above suggestions. I also find the production value to be frustrating and overly artsy. I'm distracted by putting all the performance segments in black and white, the explanations in color and the transitions seem to be an excuse to use special effects in the production studio. And the content, while good, isn't good enough to justify the price when compared to Page's video. -Patrick |

After you've taken some time with the DVD's mentioned you may want to take a look at Alexander DeCova's, "Examining the Thumb Tip".
Some very unique ideas on how to get the most out of the tip. Here's a great review... http://magic.about.com/od/magicreview/fr/080606decova.htm Rudy |
