Hi all,
can anyone suggest to me some good hard driving, and preferably royalty free, music I can use to accompany escapes? The time period is around the industrial revolution. The music I suppose Houdini might have used. Anything blue grass in nature would be good too if it is from that period. Thanks.

Go to the Believe it or not section here, Todd Robbins put me in contact with some excellant Organ music which was used on the fairgrounds back then.
I still use calliope backing for my outside traditional gigs now. Ken. |

Bluegrass music didn't appear as we know it until the 1930s. Right now, I can't think of an old time mountain music tune that would fit, but I'll study it a mite and see what I can come up with. |

Period wise, try the audio archive at http://www.archive.org . There is a huge selection of old 78s and early recordings from that period - spend a rainy afternoon browsing around and you can find some real gems from the past.
I pretty much swore by this site when preparing back projections for a band I used to be in, as a source of old newsreel and vintage film footage. |

Is there any particular reason you are using and wanting that kind of music?

It has to do with the period of the show and type of show I am involved in.

Is there a Particular Beat you want? I have some Fast Based Songs which have a bit of a Dark Aged type Theme which work WELL with Escape shows. As to Victorian and Industrial revolution type music. I don't know if I have any but will Have a Look. If you are wanting a machine style tune, You might want to look into some of the terminator themes. They can work Well with Escape shows if used correctly.
