From what he posted, it appears that he thinks if he can't do something it's not because of him, it's because of the technology. That was my point. We can guess at what Jon meant, however rather than do that I would say that the meaning of communication is the response you get. I think that's valid. Of course, that's also a NLP presupposition. I think it is valid and a way of understanding communications. Curiously, by Jon's definition, saying this is valid is also saying this understanding is hypnosis. |

Thank you for clarifying DM
BTW - I didn't say you said Jon was a beginner (nice try) I merely stated that he isn't. I did however question the analogy you used. Someones responce to what you say doesn't necessarily bare any relationship with what you actual said though. This board is constantly proving that. Thank you for taking the time to explain what you did mean though, it allows me to alter my perception of what I thought you meant MP - Crowbarring = as in using a crowbar to force entry, in this case to crowbar an analogy that doesn't necessarily fit. Surprised you needed that explanation... or were you just being obtuse? |

Nah I know you probably find it hard to believe but Ive never had to use a crow bar in my life. I learned how to pick locks at an early age.
I thought you meant something do with those black things with feathers. And was wondering how you go about "barring" them. |

Hey MP I said I trained with Wilf, didn't learn much from the guy except to go out of my way to look up Gill Boyne, ;-) Wilf actually asked me at one point to stick to the course because my rapid tuff wasn't what he was teaching. I did because the piece of paper made getting licensed easier.
I'm aware of drawn out processes was my point I guess. Which are useless in my opinion compared to direct suggestion which is easily the fastest way to adjust emotional problems. I've never understood why a phobia or something which is formed in a few moments of trauma should take any longer than those few moments to get rid of? Guess we do lots the same differently. |

I had the same problem with Wilf. He hated stage hypnotists but the rest of the class wanted to see some rapid inductions. So he left the room while I showed them. I was quite accomplished as a hypnotist when I attended his course in 93 but the rest of the students were beginers.
It was drawn out at times. But what I really liked about Wilf's course was the old school of NLP we even did parts parties etc. I did his NLP courses too which in many ways were really outdated. Plus he used to get us to hug each other with regularity in and out of trance. I was there for three weeks! At the end of the course there was a bunch of us after dinner in the car park hugging each other for 20 mins. When I got home I really had to work hard not to give in to the urge to hug everybody that came in the room! The thing I got from Wilf was the idea of messing up the process until it no longer worked. And a few other things I still use today. I do use direct stuff too I use a range of things. The five hour process I learned is really the only way I do therapy. The reason being that just about any problem can be released in that time and many other related ones. Plus you can charge a decent fee for it. And not have to have them come back every week. But yes theres is always more than one way. I liked Gil Boyne too I have a few of his videos. http://advancedmind.co.uk/perform.htm Its an old link. I actually charged around £800 if they signed up to a coaching programme. I still do the odd one now and then. In fact I have one this week. First in a while. |

I was with Wilf in '89. He actually tried to demo some stage stuff. I had to put people right in the evening after he left.
I charge 1,00 per session. That can be anything from 15 minutes upwards. Never been with anyone longer than 90 minutes but then I don't get too many, don't need to I guess. I teach my symbolism http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3xgqkWYSl8 I find you get rid of one thing lots go away as well. However I doubt this has got a lot to do with the basic entertainment genre that thus Café aims at. |
