I finally got around to watching THIS IS IT last night.
SO GOOD!!!! Really, it was amazing; even better than I had expected. Towards the end of his life Michael Jackson was so reclusive and eccentric that I had a hard time appreciating his artistry. Seeing him back stage talking with dancers and musicians gave me so much respect for his skills and knowledge and his performances were incredible! Highly recommend!

I loved THIS IS IT. A unique perspective for such an Artiste.
They should have done that type of "Movie" ten years ago about Michael imho... Alas, it seems fitting at the end to see him as a human being, not just some caricature of one. Both sad and poignant at the same time.

Not a fan of the man or the music, BUT that being said I did enjoy this and it did provide some insight to his performance.
I thought it was summed up in the scene where he is talking to the girl who was playing the guitar. He looks at her and is encouraging her to really let loose, it is "her time to shine" and be the best she can be and all that. What a perfect attitude. He tries to elevate everyone to his level and does not worry if he is outshined. That is what makes a true star. It did not change my mind about him or his music, but I do see how he got where he is.
