Hi,
I am just about to go through the family law system to see my 7 month old baby more often. Currently it's only 2 hours visiting a week. Although I should feel blessed to see him at all, I would expect much better than this from his mother. He needs to get to know me better and I'm a good loving father. I got to feed him today for the first time! Anyway wish me luck as I go to my lawyer for some advice on how to deal with it. By the way, I'm in Australia and our family law system may differ a lot from other countries.

Women are far more vicious than men are, and I'm afraid that in the next 18 years you will have to jump through many, many hoops to earn your babies love. Divorce was far more painful for me than my open heart surgery was, and I wish you the best my friend.

My father knocked a gal up over 50 years ago. Until five years ago when they started dating again the son they had (he died before I met him, a year ago I guess) was told by his mother that my dad deserted them and didn't want to see him etc, none true. So the poor slub was 50 and told "gee, I was just being mean to your father....opps".

Hey, it could be worse. My fathers mother just up and left her husband. The poor slob came home one night and found his wife, his only child, and most of the furniture gone. She moved out of state, changed my dad's name to her maiden one (ironically my last name should be Christian) and then when World War Two came around told her now ex-husband that his son had been killed in the war. Real piece of work my grandmother.
So I guess you could count yourself lucky that you get to see your progeny at all. Hope your custody battle goes well

Since we are all telling horror stories here
I was due to have no custody of my two girls because I was accused of being a wife beating child abuser. My lawyer told me that the court always believes the woman, and I had no chance of winning. The good news is that my two lovely daughters (behind my back) promised their mother that they both would call her a liar in court, so I won total custody of both my girls (total custody was the decision of my two daughters). I also won the privledge of sending them both through college, and paying for two weddings. Be careful what you wish. LOL

Landmark, yup, she lives w/ my father now and they spend a lot of time there in NYC. In fact her son from her second marriage arrived yesterday to visit (or as I think to check out his future property). From what my dad said his 'real son' (my dad has a way with words at times) actually wanted to beat him up for leaving etc so the mother had to tell him the truth about her cheatin' and runnin' off and all that. I was really concerned about my dad for awhile because he'd go to NYC and have to hide from the guy.
Al, my cousin was arrested for child abuse and brought into jail where it became pretty clear to the police that something was wrong with the situation and my cousin Bob said to them "hold on...you are saying my kids were beat up at home and if I didn't do it, and I didn't, then who?". The who was Bobbys wife who they then arrested and Bobby raised his four kids himself, they are all adults now. |

Niether me nor my ex wife ever had any idea just how smart those two kids were.
