It's a 26 room brownstone. Isn't it appartments now? I don't know who owns it.

Not sure who owns it, but years ago some firemen did an inspection and wound up with several items from the house. I was told a trunk got destroyed in someones backyard. I was lent a bed of nails that I took to Martinkas to see if they could maybe tell me a bit about it. Houdini had a french fry cutter that they still use in the firehouse.

Thanks for sharing the link, Banester (I was wondering why that story just took a spike in views).
Yeah, the house is now individual units of some kind. Apts or condos. I tried to find the owners name, but nobody seems to know. |

http://www.trulia.com/homes/New_York/New......NY-10026 Also found this with the owner listed (about 1/4 down the page) http://www.city-data.com/ny-properties/a......t-6.html Being that it is public information and on the internet, the owners name is THOMAS FRED A

I think that we should buy this home and turn it into a Museum..
I bought my friends home in Texas years after she died and sold it for a nice profit.. Selena the latino star... We were both raised in the same town and were friends.. What a great loss. Taylor

Hi all,
I actually LIVE in Houdini's house, which is a 4-story brownstone. There are only 3 tenants in the entire building. Fred is the owner/landlord, he occupies the first two floors. A couple lives on the 3rd floor, and my apartment is the entire 4th floor. It's interesting to think that my home is where Houdini had his "inner sanctum", if you will, along with the copper tub he practiced his water escapes in. |

I visited there last year. Just a normal house on a street in harlem, most of the people didn't seem to know it was his house. Got a nice guy to take a pic of me out front of it. Other than the plaque, you'd think it was any other brownstone
