Hey guys,
I wonder if anyone can point me in the direction of a good, reasonably deceptive, one-hand false cut? I must confess I'm pretty new to flourishing of this kind, but I'm trying to put together a 4 ace revelation for the stage using Daniel Madison's 4sybil as a starting point, so anything you can point me in the direction of would be very much appreciated! Cheers, Steve |

Kryptonite from the system by dan and dave is false.
you can make the revolution cut false. or doing first a thumbcut, or scissor cut and then a charlier. just play around. |

Cheers macc, I'll look into those. Is the revolution cut a Buck creation too?

No. brian tudor invented the revolution cut.
here´s a tutorial from sebastian (a cardist): http://vimeo.com/5118624 forgot to mention. before you learn kryptonite (which is not that easy) you should be able to do the revolution cut. |

I've got a one hand false cut that I came up with about five years ago that's very deceptive. I showed it to Daryl at a convention and he had no idea it was false. Unfortunately I haven't published the move, and it's very difficult to explain with text alone. If I ever get around to fixing my webcam I might put it up for display.
An easier one hand false cut can be done by simply crimping the bottom card of the deck and then doing two one hand cuts, making sure to cut at the crimp. To make it more deceptive, crimp the bottom card and do a one hand triple cut (the kind taught on Art of Card Manipulation, can't remember which volume, it's a charlier style cut) followed by a single cut at the crimp. Or vice versa. (Fun thing about the one hand triple cut is it apears to mix the cards more, but in fact accomplishes the effect of a single cut) Hope that helps.

I heard from a friend that anecdotal evidence is actually quite reliable. |

Yeah, I was thinking some kind of triple-packet cut would be a better bet, to save it looking like I'm cutting the deck and then re-cutting it at the same place -- which is exactly how most of the false one-hand cuts I've seen do look.
I do like the idea of using a crimp though, so I'll have a play around with that! Cheers, Steve |

Cheers Chappo, I invested in the ebook (I thought if nothing else, its going to an extremely good cause!) and I do like the cut.
A shame it's not strictly one-handed (I don't think I'll be able to use it for this routine) but I'll certainly keep it in my arsenal for close-up work! Steve |

Cheers Steve! Glad you took the time. Either way, there is a veritable STACK of goodness in that ebook.
Let us know if you ever manage to fit the triple C into your repertoire! Chappo

I know. Old post. But I wonder why no one mentioned Rene Lavand's One-hand False Cut? Completely deceptive.

There's also "Cox Uker", which is a flourish-y one handed false cut, that Ladislas made. You could literally just Youtube it, he made a tutorial.
