The BBC is investigating allegations that actors were hired to pose as members of the public featured in reality TV show The Real Hustle.

The BBC Three programme features a team who con members of the public in order to show viewers how frauds work.

Paul wrote a great blog post about what parts are set up and what parts aren't.

I suspect that scams look fake to observers because the observers lack the emotional involvement that the victim has. Without emotional involvement, it's easier to see clearly and spot the scam. As one friend of mine said, it's easier for an observer to spot scams because "It's not your money!" This leads to the common question "How could he be so stupid?" and I'm guessing to the allegations about TRH.

What does it matter if they were actors or not? The point of the show is to reveal hustles,as education. No one is actually 'hustled' with money returned to individuals later.
Ridiculous.
I'm always honest about when I'm lying. And I'm always lying...
