No point really. It was "fact" and documented back then though that the Earth was flat. Then later in history, it was "fact" and documented that the Earth was the center of the universe, and everything else revolved around it. Just saying that things can be proven wrong or right as more information is gathered.
Santa, I agree with your first post in this thread that it is likely some form of life exists out there. It hasn't been proven, but with the trillions of stars, etc... out there, a few might have the right conditions to harbor some form of life. |

Oh sure, there could be all kinds of interesting things out there. Too bad we won't be able to get to those places, at least in our life times. I still want to see what is on the bottom of the ocean and I'm not at all worried about what is or isn't on other planets.

Well, if there are other forms of intelligent life out there, they're probably arguing right now as to whether there's any other intelligent form of life in the universe. And using exactly the same arguments.
Reminds me of when I was in Catholic grade school. The nuns kept telling us that only Catholics would go to heaven. And I kept thinking, gee, what are the kids in other religions hearing? Are they hearing that only Catholics would go to heaven? Or are they heating that theirs is the only true faith? Of course, back then, you wouldn't dare ask those questions.

Aliens exist, get over it. Space never stops just like time. I'm pretty sure there is another planet somewhere
that has living organisms and plants, maybe an early evolotion of a creature? If you disagree then that's your small intellgience for what the human mind cannot comprhend. (Warning contains strong language!!) Anyone remember this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1MuT_KSOo4 also aliens exist says buzz aldrin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpfvhdmhQy4 |

ABC, they must have some odd lookin' critters (no offense) down there. I saw a poster when I was a kid of what they figured was down there, sure they were wrong but still it should be cool.

One way to look at this is. If life on other planets does exist we probably would already know it. The other planets with life on them wouldn't be light years away. They would be close to us at least as close as a couple of years travel time would take. If Mars had intelligent life we would have already met some of them from Mars. Face it even though it is possible that other planets have intelligent life it's not very likely. It is more likely that we are the only ones.
The facts are also. The moon does not have any life, Nor does mars. Venus. the Pluto (Even tho it is no longer a planet) Uranus none of them have any life form that is even close to us. Or more advanced than we are. |

Nearest guess to how many solar systems exist in the universe is "infinity". The notion that not one other planet in any of these solar systems is capable of supporting life is preposterous. Earth is an insignificant piece of dust in the universe.

Yes. To be exact "We" haven't found life on any of the nine. We were already here so can't say that we found ourselves. We haven't found life on the other eight so again yes.

Trillion = 1,000,000,000,000. The country has not existed for a trillion seconds. Western civilization has not been around a trillion seconds. One trillion seconds ago – 31,688 years – Neanderthals stalked the plains of Europe. How long would it take to locate that many stars? You are quick to jump on others for what they think is "fact" but it seems as if you are guilty of it also huh? By the way we are talking about physics, and you compare it to people who did not have an understanding of life outside their own little piece of dirt. Einstein and others have given us a platform from which they extrapolate those things they say. Also they allow for how it can be proven wrong. This is called science. Quite different from map making back in the time of Columbus wouldn't you agree?

I am not saying they can build space ships, I am not saying they have different laws of physics, I am saying life in some form exists in all probability. The idea that they are here and we can't see them or there is a cover up, or that some are more enlightened than others speaks more to human psychological problems than it does to aliens. Why is it every time someone like the OP thinks there are aliens they are ALWAYS more advanced than we are and they have some sort of greater technology than we do? Why is it that they are always more advanced? It is just as likely that they are behind us in tech!

Let me just say again. I do think that there could be other life out there. If the planet(s) isn't close enough for us to get to with in a couple of years travel time. Then we probably will never know if there is other life out there or not. Maybe 500 years from now if people are still around they may know for sure if there is life on other planets. But I doubt any of us will know for sure due to any proof.

I find it amusing so many magicians(I assume)have such closed minds. I hope it doesn't show in your performance. I apologize for bringing magic to this not magic section and hope I didn't get the thread closed or moved to another section.
