When you do a bill illusion that has a fold pattern, do you pre-fold and get your creases and carry in your billfold. Or, do you just make the folds in front of spectator keeping them concealed while making ? I was wondering if the spectators can pick up on creases in bill , and that takes away from trick because of unnatural look of bill after effect? Or, do you always try to keep bill taunt to hide the creases? (doing close up)

Mine are prefolded... never had an issue with it. I've thought about working on methods to fold the bill in front of them so I can be more impromptu but haven't been that motivated. I guess once a spectator says something I'll deal with it... if it isn't broke I won't fix it.

Just my two penny's worth...

Mine are always pre-folded and I also have never had an issue either. If I'm using a bill out of my own wallet, then I just figured it is natural for them assume that they aren't the first people I've shown it to. I guess if you were to borrow a bill and switch it for a pre-folded one then you'd have a harder time pulling it off.

Considering the method that I use for a bill switch, I don't have a problem. Creases are expected.

I usually use a prefolded bill, for the sake of speed and convenience. But, I sometimes borrow a bill and run my thumb nail over the bill when I make a fold, so that the creases are exactly where I want them to be. If you don't want hard creases, maybe it would be a good idea to soften the bill by running your thumb nail over it, both horizontally and vertically. When the bill is folded, it won't be as compact as it would if it had creases.
