Hi everyone. I thought I would post this question here to give me some feedback and to do some much needed research.

I am a graphic designer and artist as well as a stage magician. I am currently working with and designing silks for a silk manufaturer. With this in mind, it has gotten me to ask the following questions from other magicians.

What silk designs or custom style silks would you love to see out on the market?

What silk effects have you wished someone would create or come up with?

What designs, art or even patterns would you love to see on a silk, that you just have not found being provided to the magic community?

Any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated. I would love to hear anyone's comments and/or thoughts on this. It will better help me understand the need and I should learn a lot in the process.

Many thanks in advance.

What about silks with lots of cards on them - fans of cards, and cards scattered everywhere, miniature and normal size, faces and backs, just an explosion of cards splattered onto the silk Smile

Design-wise, I would like to see a very colorful wizard; big beard, pointy hat and all, maybe gazing into a crystal ball.

How about a top hat with cards flying/spilling from it, maybe with a magic wand held by a disembodied hand?

A colorful macaw or parrot?

Something with a lot of colors. Don't do a butterfly - a couple of butterfly silks are already out there. Perhaps a peacock? I saw a peacock silk on a Duane Laflin video but I have not found one for sale.

I would like to see a lifesize rabbit, dove and parrot in each individual silk. How about a full size magician without the head so you can make an instant magician or a sexy assistant without a head, too. This is similar to the cartoon silks but life size.

You know, some of the old standards could use some updating. It would be nice to see silks with art that doesn't look as though it was drawn in 1942. . .

I have painted a full size magician type silk which was a blendo for Arden James. See the custom silk page at the website.

That's it Regan, green eggs and ham.

Actually is it made of some kind of rubbery plastic but fits into a penny match box (like they still existed!). It could easily be sewn onto a silk.

I thought about doing Chinese Egg Bag and when the egg disappears get the silk out of my pocket with the fried egg smashed on it. Have the egg reappear and then show (another silk) that the egg smashed on the silk is all cleaned up. (The early bird gets her egg off the silk worm's silk!)

Otherwise, I'll get Lucy to draw an egg onto a silk. She does great work with Sharpie Pens on silk.

Good idea Bob!

I've seen those eggs before somewhere. I may have to go egg hunting. I don't know if I'm brave enough to try the sharpie approach. I may find an old silk and test out my drawing skills one of these days. You are lucky to have Lucy to do your artwork!

Could we do something with a poached egg? Dye tube, dry ice smoking water?

Smoke! Great idea Richard!

Could it be a really spicy Mexican omelet? Even produce a (TT) hot pepper.

Then produce a silk with the omelet picture on it and a bite missing.
