Was curious to get others' perspectives on where you would rank the different cup makers out there (Nos. 1, 2, and 3), for quality and overall value. Specifically Cups and Balls, Chop Cups, etc...

The late Danny Dew, who IMHO started all the quality work.
Today? TOUGH. SHERWOOD, RNT2, RISER, PORPER, JOHNSON all equal in quality. I'd put the guy that spun my Galli Galli and Johnny Paul cups up there too.

It's important to bear in mind that some cup makers are more like "producers" -- they don't actually spin their own cups. Danny Dew had his cups spun by Marshall, Perigee and Rings and Things. However, the Rings and Things cups may have been spun by someone else. Tim Star did some of Rings and Thing's spinning.
Jim Riser does his own work. In the end, though, it doesn't make much difference who spins them and/or who finishes them, as long a there is consistency across the brand.

Have you sold out of the Johnny Paul cups, Pete?
I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three. Elayne Boosler

China's been putting out these metallic cups that get sold in dollar stores that I like very much.

Let's not forget the CNC-machined stainless steel cups from Auke van Dokkum, and also the fine copper spinning by Gary Animal.

As a matter of interest, how long does it generally take to spin a single cup?

Go to you tube and search metal spinning and you will see various videos of spinning in action. However a lot of time is needed to polish them. Riser may also show you on his site.

All the makers mentioned you cant go wrong with. It depends on what your looking for. I really like James Risers products. He is currently making me one of his "innocent " cups, which I think are fantastic.

Hocus-Pocus may have a set of the Johnny Paul cups for sale. There was a set in the James Robinson estate.
