If you saw my other post you know I was using the Fleshman set of 5" rings and they were swiped. So I am seeing a couple sets of 5" rings marketed but I am wondering if they are a good quality or just crap. Anyone know of a good set? I use these in my close up work on a regular basis so I don't want something less than what I had before.

Appreciate any feedback you folks can provide.

Thanks

I have a set 5 inch rings by rings and things. I purchased these from John Mendoza and they are pretty nice. I really don't use them as I prefer the larger rings, even in close up situations. I may consider selling these.

Have a nice day,

Still looking for a good set of 5" rings. Anyone know a source? Anyone have a set of the rings Dan Fleshman used to provide with the vcr? Let me know - need to get some ASAP.

Thanks!

Just saw that Joe Porper is going to be making these.

Right, Josh.... Porper is in the final stages of making up sets of 5-inch, stainless steel rings. Set will be single, key, and two linked. Perfect for Ninja and Whit's routines. See photo on my Facebook page. No price yet, as we don't know the material costs yet... stay tooned.

The Empire 4" rings are quite acceptable -- especially at $11.50 per set from Daytona Magic. They also have a 5" set, but don't know the quality. You can call and ask if the 5" set matches the Empire in quality.

This is an older set of three 5" rings and they are fantastic: http://www.elmwoodmagic.com/full/Close-U......1971.htm

Not sure if they are still available but if you only need three rings, I highly recommend this set.

On the low end, I concur with funsway - I also have a set of the Empire rings and they are quite good for $12.

I saw Pete Biro's post on facebook about a 5" rings set that he could get you real cheap. Do you think it was Pete who took your rings?

Al, where did I say "Real Cheap" ???? Possibly an old post where I offered a set of Enardo rings??? But the recent post just showed Porper's new set, and no mention of price as we don't know the material costs yet. BTW The new Porpers do NOT have the "Ghost Ring" key, just a standard cut.

Everybody knows that you don't do anything cheap. To be honest with you until I saw the Joe Porper rings 5" ring set on facebook I did not know that size existed.

What we showed on Facebook was a "modified" set of the Ghost Rings. The new set will be much the same as the Ninja sets, but stainless steel.

These are very solid quality in a six inch ring:

I can't recommend their larger sizes; I believe the same thickness stock is used on their 6 inch, 8 inch, 10 inch and 12 inch rings. It is only adequate in the 6 inch size.

6" seems like a very odd size. Too small for a stand-up routine and too big to carry for close-up/strolling.

I thought these rings were worth mentioning on this thread because this is the largest size ring where "Ninja Ring" style handling is feasible. They also present very well close up. However, I understand the pocket space challenge.

I use 6" Uday rings for large parlor style shows and can still use my ninja moves (with some adjustment).

6" is a great size for stage ring and rope. The weight is great for some tosses and the size puts your hands in a good position for some reaches. While I often use my 3" brass ring just for the contrast with my ring set, there are definite advantages with the 6" single ring.
