I just got mine today and it's truly wonderful. It charges quickly, works great and the flash is amazingly bright. I had the old Fism Flash, but because of it's bulkiness and awkward use I never used it, and my wife said the thumb tip really startled her when she first saw me use it. While some of you like the delay, I'd prefer to have it instantaneous, to take the guess work, or timing factor away. But not an insurmountable problem, just practice. Thanks Bill for bringing this to the table!

Is there any sound during the recharge, like a high-pitched whine?

Bekralik, you can't hear a thing....and used just like a TT...except for the microchips on board!

PS.... I mispoke, it's not the type of TT you'd use for the standard TT effects....sorry for any confusion......

I bought mine from Stevens while I was at the World Magic Seminar in Vegas. Rats! I stopped by the Stevens booth at least ten times during WMS and never saw it demonstrated. Problem solved: I just ordered it. |

This looks like a good solution, and your hands are left clean
I saw it at Blackpool and it's very bright! http://www.magictricks.co.uk/products/1-......o/?bc=no |

Matt,
I think the one you bought is NOT the same! - that one is a Cobra Flash made by Alex Lourido, and is not built into a Thumb Tip as this one is. Me |

The thumb tip is so-o-o-o much easier to produce the flash with....it's a beauty.....and while not as "flashy" as the Fism Flash in that it LOOKS like a flash bulb going off, while the thumb tip ia a brilliant white light coming out of your hand....they don't even know it's coming from your thumb. This thing is a marvel and fun to use and fool folks with. Just my pinion. As I said, I had Fism Flash till I got this, then sold it very quickly.

I would still like to know if this is only my TT that has this dark spot and a dent where the electronics are glued inside. I feel uncomfortable with it.

As Bill Palmer noted on his March 8 post, there are a couple of darkish areas on the TT. Mine has a small darkish spot around a tiny dent over the base of my thumb pad (the same area that you describe where the lower end of the electronics are cemented).
But I really can't imagine it being noticed by the average spectator. And, so far, no one I've performed it for has. |

If someone who has it could PM me just that much information id find it very helpful in figuring out if it would be useful to me or not.

It's no secret.
I'm sure as the ad states, it can operated using a tilt switch ie. when you lift your arm up, or the manual button Anyone know how these work with black shirts? Matt |

Sounds nice! I was recently looking around for something similar to the FISM Flash, which is unfortunately no longer available for reasons I'm sure most know about. I want to use this for several different effects, mainly for anytime that you want to punctuate a climactic vanish or production. Is the TTF appropriate for this type of use?
Also, can the TTF be used for close-up work? Or is it just for stage or parlour work? If it is no larger than a standard TT then it should be fine, even with some dark spots on it, as the spectators should never notice a TT if handled properly. Thanks! Jim |

Certainly can be used close-up with care. Same as the TT.

The TTflash is really very nice, neat & professionally build....is great for stage routine e.g bright light to bird!
Personally for close up, I will go with the latest cobra flash(very very bright light) or the latter model of Fism flash (with the side panel switch)cos it is more clean & nothing to ditch if the audience are around or very close to you. |
