Period correct would be cork balls for the cups and cloth balls for the loads. BTW, catnip balls may work pretty well.

You know, we magicians can in fact be made to be as loopy as children at Christmastime, no matter how old we get! I always get excited everytime I order a new item from a dealer, and even more so when I order custom products. I am definitely going to get a set from Win and I also have a local tinsmith at a local historic museum/village that I am going to try and rope into doing this for me.

I just got two sets of Village Tinsmith cups in the mail. One is the regular set in copper -- very nice cups!!! The other is a set of reproduction French magic set cups in antique tin. Win solved a problem that exists with this style of cup and thereby improved the cups and made them safer to use. These are masterpieces!

All in good time. I'm about a month behind with pictures. I'm hoping to spend a few hours photographing this weekend.

Just took delivery of a set of French magic set cups from Win today. These cups are absolutely stunning. The attention to detail and the construction make them a joy to just hold and look at let alone use!

Will post some pictures tonight.

Yes antique tin. My street sized cups were polished tin so it is nice to have an example of this finish. These cups are really somethin' else.

For anyone who orders a set you need to give Bill Palmer a big Thank You for supplying Win with an authentic french magic set cup to work off of. Having a period cup to work off of has allowed Win to match every minute detail on these cups.

Also of course give Win a big Thank You as well Smile

Todd, those look wonderful! I actually love the fact that there are still craftsmen out there doing things well. Thanks to both you and Bill for this project and you for bringing Win to our attention in the first place.

Those cups look great!

Wow! I should send him one of my old Magio City Jumbo Monte cups and see if he can replicate a set of them in tin. I've always loved the size of these cups but hate the fact that they are made out of aluminium. It would be nice to have a set of jumbo size traditonal cups that I could actually use.

You could probably get him to make a set in copper, if you would like that as a metal. He has done the basic style in copper and tin.
